My family of 5 visited this seemingly very popular and fantastically located East Ballina cafe recently. The menu was great. Staff were friendly and helpful. Decor was cool and on point. But after spending $94 on four mains with no drinks, we were a little confused as to whether there had been a mistake tallying up the bill. Returning to the menu, we found that the two ‘kids’ menu items we had ordered - the fried chicken and the squid - were both $19 items that consisted of a handful of chips, some salad premix and cherry tomato halves, and in the case of the chicken plate a single small piece of meat. The squid wasn’t much better, with just 4 or 5 small pieces of seafood. The kids demolished the food in minutes and quickly asked if they could order more. After spending almost $100 on a meal, disappointed kids and empty tummies felt like a bit of a let-down. Being a Sydney-sider, I’m used to steep prices but $20 for a single piece of fried chicken seemed like a new low. I’d strongly suggest that the management of TBG review the serving sizes and maybe their prices to ensure that a visit to this otherwise great venue doesn’t leave their patrons feeling like they’ve been taken...

Not happy with my smoothie. I ordered the”Super” smoothie , and it was like bubbly water and tasted very different to the same smoothie I’ve ordered here many times previously. It was not thick and when I looked closely, there was no chai seeds and I suspect it was made with milk rather than almond milk. I couldn’t finish it and felt so sick as I am diary intolerant. I overheard a staff member tell a customer that as it was just after Australia Day long weekend, they were out of many ingredients, including frozen bananas which is the key ingredient in this smoothie and this is why it was watery. I was also charged $11 which is the cost of the Super with chocolate, and I clearly said I didn’t want the choc. They slyly left out key ingredients, overcharged me and it looked nothing like the smoothie in the photo or like the dozen Super smoothies I’ve ordered from BG previously. This place has gone down hill and the staff are too busy socialising to serve. Furthermore, our table also overheard the dark English barista bad mouthing a customer. Appalling!! Belle General: You...

This was a truly restful rewarding experience for my family All adult age but still very young at heart All six of us were very comfortable and relaxed The venue is a breath of fresh air still very close to Lennox Head Balina Byron and surrounds .The hosts very welcoming and obliging to all request's We were fortunate to see a new arrival in the form of a baby Alpaca A gentle horse named Ben plays a key roll in monitoring movement's on the farm And don't miss the chance to wander through several paddocks to find The serene Humphrey The bull meandering through his paddock We found this piece of paradise by accident really but very glad we did . Gail and Mark could not have been more welcoming and nothing was a challenge From BBQ starting to Gas heater to fresh jam all provided at a time we needed that touch of genuine...

I chose this café because of the outside dog-friendly eating area, though the wooden and backless benches wouldn’t be my first choice for comfortable seating. It was a busy time, but my brunch was ready surprisingly soon. And what a beautiful presentation! I chose poached eggs on sourdough, with added butter, relish, hash browns and avocado. Tasted as good as it looked. The eggs were a generous size and perfectly poached, the yokes still just that little bit runny. The two hash browns were crisp and crunchy, the avo perfectly ripe, and the relish added colour and taste. (Probably didn’t need the butter.) My flat white was equally attractively presented, and also full of flavour. I would have lingered longer, but the wind was cold, and my dog signalled that he needed to go do what a dog has to do.

The food was amazing - I had the crispy chicken soft tacos and my husband had the crispy skinned Barra burger. The wait time was also good. And we got a park right outside. 3/5 for service - young wait staff could be trained to communicate better with customers eg. always read back order to check, invite customer to pay by tapping or inserting card into machine, asking customer if they would like a receipt, and then not disappearing immediately after taking order (I had a question).

Best. Cafe. Ever. Honestly everything about this cafe is delightful. The ambience, the coffee, the food. Everything was fresh and delicious. We have three young boys and they loved the milkshakes, bacon and egg rolls and the avocado toast. Hubby had the fish tacos... so yum. I had the toasted roast vege sandwich which was unbelievable. The vegan banoffee pie is something I will be back for every time we drive up the coast! Staff were lovely. So happy and satsified right now 😍
