Treehouse Restaurant — Restaurant in New South Wales

We arrived for dinner and straight away we knew something wasn’t quite right. The restaurant was struggling for staff. We were met by a gentleman in a chefs jacket who apologised for the lack of staff. He seated us and served us drinks. He then took our order and returned to the kitchen to prepare it. There were 5 other tables that he had seated and was preparing their meals. I commented to my wife how amazing it was that the chef ran the entire restaurant so his customers would be happy. Not long later our entree and mains came out. The food was delicious. Again we were surprised that the chef took care of the entire front of house then disappeared to prepare and cook some amazing food. At the end of dinner we spoke to a manager of the motel and congratulated them on having such a dedicated chef. She was surprised and asked where we saw the chef so we pointed him out through the kitchen. To our surprise she told us the chef failed to turn up along with wait staff. The person who met the guests, seated them, took orders, served drinks, prepared and cooked all entrees and mains was actually the kitchen hand. This guy took on the responsibility of the entire restaurant without being asked and saved their customers from walking out. That’s the kind of staff every employer wants and every customer appreciates. Well done to the young man for his work ethic, his customer service and his skills in the kitchen.
