Excellent wine list (superb pinot) & cocktails (the Duchess) . They served a complimentary beef cheek pastry that was delicious with our wine. Duck leg was a tasty flavour bomb that I thoroughly enjoyed, meat fell off the bone, freshest vegetables, cooked to perfection. I'm a very fussy eater and don't normally give ratings and reviews unless it really catches my attention with a tasty, memorable meal, and this place just made my list. Highly recommend Duke's restaurant. Attentive and friendly service. Husband had the sirloin, cooked the way he likes it, tender & good quality cuts of meat. Chocolate semifreddo dessert was a superb way to end the night. Clean, ambient lighting, enough space between tables of other guests. We had one night in Maitland, and chose Dukes from TripAdvisor reviews… sure glad we did! From the ambience of the beautiful building, the cocktails, the service and the actual meal we were blown away! The timing for the entree and main was great - neither too slow or too fast (cocktail, entree, main and dessert took us just over an hour and a half I would say). The quality of the food was superb. I love fine dining and found the flavours so complementary, the choices were interesting twists on classic dishes. Loved the use of berry fruit in particular! We had a small wedding ceremony in the courtyard at the rear of Duke's followed by dinner for our family in the whisky room. Everything was amazing, from communication through to customer service and the food.

This establishment is powered by passion, and having the right staff in the right roles. Lindsay is the perfect host and we could not have felt like we were in better hands through the afternoon and evening. We will never forget the meal produced by Tim and his team. The skill to produce that quality of food is a credit to them and we'll be talking about that lamb and apple pie for years! We could not even imagine any venue, anywhere!, that could have made our celebration so special.
