Came here for breakfast this morning in the hopes of having a great morning meal. We ordered an iced chocolate & 2x bacon, hashbrown and cheese wraps. It’s safe to say this cafe doesn't know how to make their drinks correctly. Even the staff member told us their iced chocolates aren’t advertised correctly after asking for my drink to be remade when it was served with icecream instead of ice cubes and literally might as well have been a thick shake. Not to mention it wasn’t the correct milk. The wraps were severely over priced paying almost $20each for literally cheese, bacon & hashbrowns on a toasted wrap & the bacon was as hard a rock. We could have gotten fast food for cheaper and better quality! I would be happy to pay the price if the quality was higher but it wasn’t even close to mediocre. Might I add that the wait was insane. 45-50minutes for 2x wraps and 1 drink. I myself work in a MUCH busier restaurant and can have dishes out within 15-20 minutes so it’s not like we didn’t understand, for this long of a wait time I would expect better quality food. Won’t be returning, do better. To those wanting to go here, go somewhere else and spend your money...
Read moreIve worked around the Maitland and newcastle area since 2007 and regularly eat out at cafes and restaurants I recently attended the orange tree café with a client an elderly gentleman for lunch.. We ordered 2 works burgers we had to wait approx. 35 to 40 minutes for our lunch to be served.. The meal was quite large..at the cost of $24 for a works burger and chips is quite expensive but if it were good quality I don't mind paying what ever the cost. It really comes down to quality verse quantity and unfortunately the food that was served to us was lacking quality to say the least.. It was the worst burger that I've ever payed for and we were very disappointed in the food and the response to the owner of the Cafe regarding the goid was appalling.. I would recommend anyone considering eating at the orange tree café toperish the thought and...
Read moreTerrible experience today. Having a great day at our beautiful Maitland. One weekend a year we have our chocolate and coffee festival. Party of 5 walk in, we had small tasting coffees from a brewer in our hands. Owner speaks with one couple in our party, I was chatting to a waitress who I had not seen for some time. She then asked if we wanted to sit outside, we headed for the back, the owner stands in the doorway blocking us to pass and rudely says “you can’t bring those coffees in here”! Was very confronting and honestly weird vibes. Wow. Party of 5! Coming for a sit down breakfast, including coffees and cold beverages. Now as we left, there was a sign apparently but I didn’t see it, nor my husband. My apologies, but seriously, whisper in my ear, don’t be so arrogant!! The meals at CJ’s are way...
