Ever walk into a place and wonder whether they're trying to do too much? This is not like that. From the entryways, you can already see a number of exhibits, various shopping displays and a cafe but I'd say that the MRAG is absolutely smashing each of these aspects. The art installations are gorgeous and always highlight our local talent (as are/do the unique items offered for sale, mind you). They have high-quality, engaging activities for kids, from code-breaker puzzles to solve on your walk through the gallery, to creative craft workshops which are new each week. On top of that, the food and beverages are top-notch. I would be surprised if I had less than 300 cappuccinos a year from a variety of places, and the best one I've had this year was at the MRAG. Everything I've ever ordered from this cafe has been delicious, perfectly prepared and served by friendly, professional staff. The MRAG appears to excel in all their endeavours and has quickly become a family-favourite venue for us...
Read moreI enjoyed the art itself, being a home grown Morpeth resident my favourite painting had to be the morpeth bridge, the staff of the gallery were both informative and kind. And of course the food I had was surpurbe, the cook at the time Meira was especially excellent with both her customer service and the food she presented to me. As a man raised and taught in a customer service environment where the the food must be cooked right and customers delt with kindly and professionally. This art gallery and Cafe was superb in every way I could rate it. The experience was certainly worth the hour and a half drive from muswellbrook to have the experience. Thankyou very much to all the staff evolved at both the Cafe and the personal at the art gallery itself for...
Read moreThis is a fantastic gallery with really interesting spaces. We didn’t get a chance to check out the outdoor area because it was raining, but from what we could see through the door, it looked lovely definitely a great spot for a coffee or a bite to eat. The staff were very engaging and seemed passionate and knowledgeable about the exhibits.
We did three of the scavenger hunts with my daughter. You can grab the clues from the front desk and follow them to find different items and objects around the gallery, which was a lot of fun. Overall, we thought it was a wonderful place, and especially great for kids. The Sunday art sessions (held every Sunday from 10 AM to 12 PM) are very interactive, giving kids the chance to create, cut, and...
