Donut King Hunter Mall Maitland — Restaurant in Newcastle-Maitland

My children and I really enjoy our visit to donut King. They do get rather busy and we always eat in. Sometimes if they have kept us waiting that little bit longer the lovely staff members bring the kids out a couple of extra cinnamon or even iced donuts which really is appreciated, even though my children find it interesting and are occupied by watching how the cinnamon donuts are made and we know they are always fresh and made to order. It is quite disappointing on the rare occasion when the cola icee machine is not working as it should, however I've noticed this is a common occurance at other franchises such as McDonald's, Hungry Jacks etc so it is a fault in the design of the machines rather than the staffs lack of attention to detail. The staff are always happy and helpful, my son likes to drink a cup of plain milk at times and the staff are more than happy to poor a cup of milk at no charge which is wonderful. The food is great always fresh and cooked well and it is a donut desert shop but I would love to see them exapandwith some more savory foods like pluto pups, corn cobs on a stick, raisen toast and perhaps toasted muffins ,pancakes and...

i gave 2 stars because i really do like the donuts. But trying to get donuts early in the morning is the biggest problem for anyone going here. i have been there before 7 and up to 8.30 in the morning and each time i can only get mini donuts in the cup. no fresh 6 hot donuts here. better off going to another place if you want that. its a shame. i have tried at least 6 times, as its my little thing i love in the morning. but not this place. not once have i had any luck early. i have got them once after 10am but now i just go to bakery for...

What an ordeal. After having the most difficult salesperson saying I couldn’t pay more to have cheese and onion put on a regular hotdog or pay more for a thick shake instead of a milkshake in the meal deal, I paid more for each individual item seperate. For the luxury of paying more I received a cold hotdog with no cheese or onion (money well spent), more cinnamon than I have ever seen, and borderline aggressive customer service.

P.S wiping food spills off tables onto the floor does not count...
