Esprezzo — Restaurant in Noranda

(28/05/2023) My recent visit to Esprezzo was an experience I would rather forget. From the moment I walked through the door, it was clear that the level of service and quality I had expected was nowhere to be found. Regrettably, I can only give this coffee shop a one-star rating, as my visit left me feeling deeply dissatisfied.

The first issue I encountered was the abysmal attitude of the person serving me. Their rudeness was palpable from the moment I approached the counter. I was met with dismissive glances and a complete lack of interest in assisting me. It is disheartening to be treated with such disrespect when all I wanted was a pleasant coffee shop experience.

To make matters worse, the beverages I ordered were far from enjoyable. I decided to indulge in a chocolate milkshake, hoping for a rich, creamy treat. Instead, I received a concoction that resembled plain milk with a faint hint of chocolate. The taste was lackluster, and it left me questioning if any actual chocolate was involved in its creation.

In addition to the disappointing milkshake, I also ordered an iced coffee that was supposed to have ice cream incorporated. Sadly, it fell short of my expectations. The supposed inclusion of ice cream was barely detectable, resulting in a rather lackluster beverage that failed to excite my taste buds. It was evident that attention to detail was sorely lacking in the preparation of these drinks.

I firmly believe that a coffee shop should strive to provide a pleasant and inviting atmosphere for its customers, along with quality beverages. Sadly, Esprezzo failed to deliver on both fronts during my visit. The rude service and subpar drinks left me feeling frustrated and unappreciated as a customer.

I sincerely hope that the management takes this review as an opportunity for improvement. A warm and friendly service, along with drinks that meet customers' expectations, are vital in fostering a positive experience. Came in this morning with my partner, my partner had ordered poached eggs on toast with bacon and a hot chocolate and I ordering the smashed avo w/ haloumi dish with the dukkah on top with an almond latte 1 sweetener. First off the bat, the two staff members who worked behind the POS clearly didn’t want to be there and had a bad attitude. Second, my partner received his dish before me. Mine? Sitting on the counter waiting to be brought to me, resulting in a stone cold dish. Thirdly, tables were cleared late with some still having rubbish left on top, once cleared we couldn’t help but notice that there was no wiping of the tables. Fourth, my latte had no taste - literally straight up steamed almond milk.. a babycino.. literally just steamed almond milk. And finally, I noticed a customer bringing back their dish, shook her head and left. The young girl behind the counter then rolled her eyes.

This place used to be great! shameful :(

Not sure what has happened to this place…used to be greeted by a friendly smile, great service and delicious food. Now? Greeted by a surly lady behind the counter - order some sandwiches made fresh and upon picking them up - disgusted! The sandwiches (especially for the price you pay) used to be full and FRESH! None of the sandwiches cut in half, bread is falling apart and STALE, tomato ends in all four sandwiches and only once slice of tomato in each, a sprinkle of lettuce and a huge mouthful of onion. No beetroot? Was a staple when ordering ALL salads! To add insult to injury the sandwiches have half the filling they used too and the bread in two sandwiches was buttered on the OUTSIDE, making for a greasy and messy eating experience. After being a loyal and regular customer for many years, I can only assume Jason and co have sold to new owners and it is evident in the poor quality of food.
