Was really looking forward to going here because I had heard great things about this place. We arrived a tad early for our 11:30 booking. While we waited for other guests, we decided to have a cheeky cocktail. The missus ordered something with gin in it, and I saw tequila and couldn't resist. Both drinks tasted amazing, and the service was incredible. Guests arrived at around 12:00. Shortly after, we were approached by a woman who told us sternly that our table was booked for 1:15, so we better get a hurry on our orders. I didn't know there were time limits on a booked table? Everyone ordered and food & drinks were on the table by 12:30 and I was amazed by such a quick service👏🏾👏🏾 I ordered the Mi Goreng... (i think that's how you spell it) I don't do seafood at all, so I ordered it with chicken... it came out with seafood😒 the waitress apologised and took it back to the kitchen. Around 12:45 I received my meal and it was absolutely amazing, definitely worth what I paid! Did I mention the atmosphere in this joint was incredible?? Anyway, 1:00 pm is approaching and I still haven't finished my meal, let alone the big cocktail tequila I had. By this time I was feeling a bit rushed to finish my food and drink to get out of there by 1:15, I didn't enjoy that👎🏽 I believe we overstayed our welcome in the end but nothing was said🤷🏾‍♂️. All in all, this was a great establishment with some beautiful tasting foods I definitely recommend. ✌🏾 Side note: our guests told us when they arrived that the reception wasn't very pleasant 🤷🏾‍♂️🤷🏾‍♂️

We had heard good things about Chinta and decided to have lunch there to see for ourselves. We were lucky to snag the last table outside (we didn't book and the place was packed; this was on Tuesday!). First up, the service is fabulous; attentive without being intrusive. The menu is best described as eclectic and that means that it is likely to have something for everyone including vegetarians and those looking for gluten-free food. And there is a good range of beverages as well. My wife had the fried chicken on waffle from the all-day breakfast menu while I could not resist the sayur loddeh with jackfruit. The crispy fried chicken was served atop a waffle and covered in maple syrup sauce. And it came with a pile of crispy bacon and a fried egg too. The sweetness of the chicken was nicely balanced with the saltiness of the bacon. And the serve was generous. The sayur loddeh (a coconut based vegetable curry) was super. It came with rice, cut red chilli, fried onions, and a sweet black sauce. Some may know the jackfruit but this curry features the connective fibres between the fruit. And it is a lovely medium to soak up the curry flavours. Bring a big appetite with you as it's a big and delicious meal. There is some free street parking nearby but it can fill up fast. Disabled access is available and credit cards are accepted.

This place goes off. Very popular. There is a wait time. Asia in one place. Bali, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam all mixed in. Over crowded as restaurants go with the decor but it adds to the vibe. Old toy cars, trinket shop with a market feel and deli mixed up. My first negative was the door service. I had pre-booked. Waited patiently for the lady to service others waiting before me, before being overlooked and others that that just came to the door were seen to. I was looking straight at her. In front view can't miss me. I don't need much other than I will be with you shortly acknowledgement and I didn't get anything. I want straight to my husband and got him to get our table. Very disappointed. We love our food and this place is definitely ticking boxes for that with most of us very happy with our food. At the we got kindly asked to leave. They needed it for Hi-Tea, which is highly popular and there were no more tables available. We were put out but because we had pre booked. It was for only 2 hours. The 4 of us left. Our friends want to try the Hi-Tea, I personally wouldn't bother because service is so important and first impressions is not favorable. I felt they aren't interested in giving service to everyone equally. Though it would be interesting to see if it's just that day or something that happens often..

As a massive foodie who loves to try new places, I was shocked at how bad the customer service was in this cafe. I went in today for lunch and was basically ignored for an entire hour. I arrived at the cafe at 1.20pm, I was met by a lady in a kaftan who told me I would be given a table in 5 minutes.. around 20 minutes later this same lady was just walking past me and ignoring me.. usually I wouldn’t mind and I’m very understanding if it’s busy but when a couple came in after 20 minutes and we’re seated immediately without a booking I started to get a bit annoyed. I asked a different lady for a table and she found me one almost instantly but then the kaftan lady came back and wouldn’t let me sit on my new table and asked me to follow her. Once seated I was not given any water or spoken to again for another 20 minutes LOL. that same lady just kept walking past me and staff were just wondering around emptying boxes and walking around with trays of empty glasses. After now being at the restaurant for 40 minutes I had to grab a lady and ask her if she was busy and she asked if I was okay.. I just told her I wanted to order and she was shocked I’d been there that long and still hadn’t even been spoken to by anyone. She worked in the shop so she got me a waitress. The waitress took my order … I asked for a matcha, a bottle of water and an omelette.. another 20 minutes pass and I still have no water, no matcha and no food (no food is fine but the rest???) so I’ve now been at this cafe for a whole hour and I don’t even have a glass of water. Literally such a joke!! I also felt EXTREMELY discriminated against because I was just one single person, as soon as I arrived the lady obviously had a problem with me and she went out of her way to make sure I was NOT looked after and that I was made to feel like I shouldn’t even be there. the worst cafe experience I’ve ever had in my life and that lady in the kaftan has a gross attitude. I posted on Instagram and many people replied to me about this same woman saying she’s been awful to them as well. I ended up just walking out after an hour because I was starving and dehydrated by that point. Also I don’t have 3 hours to spend in a cafe when all I want is an omelette and...

Beautiful atmosphere. However, the service we received was absolutely shocking. The woman who seated us was extremely rude to our party of 11. I made her aware that I had a severe peanut allergy and she was very dismissive, basically saying that I wouldn’t be able to eat anything at the cafe, didn’t give me any options of what would be best to eat, and said I would have to sign a waiver (which she did not give me to sign).

To stay on the safe side I ordered a bowl of ice cream and told the waiter that was all I would safely be able to eat, considering the woman who seated us was unapologetically rude and dismissive of my dietary restriction. I also ordered a lemon, lime and bitters.

The LLB had way too much bitters in it and was basically solo and bitters, was honestly the worst LLB I have ever had. The bowl of ice cream took at least 30 minutes to come out, most of the people who had ordered full meals had finished by the time I was given my ice cream. 3 different people at my table, including myself, enquired as to why it was taking so long. The first person was told that it would come out with the desserts - no one was ordering dessert. The second person was told it would be coming out soon. When I enquired they said it was being put into a bowl now. I waited another 5 minutes before it was given to me. The waiter was very condescending and gave me a tea spoon, a spork (???), and a tablespoon. The ice cream was clearly just a generic brand, the type that leaves that weird coating in your mouth; pretty much tasted like Peter’s ice cream. Could have bought a whole tub for what they charged for 2 scoops.

This is the worst dining experience I have ever had. I have received better service from fast food chains. When discussing with everyone after we left we all agreed the food and service was thoroughly underwhelming. One person even joked if it was a choice between starving and eating at chinta, they would choose to starve. 0/10 would...

Lovely atmosphere. Food not bad. However service BELOW average, which was a shame. If you filter the reviews to all the latest ones you’ll see a trend in the comments. Clearly very bad service with rude staff. Unfortunately we didn’t read this before coming. Would’ve given 1 star for service but thankfully 1 waitress named Minh was their savior with her friendly smile and great service. She was the ONLY staff we dealt with that was nice.

Asked 1 staff for a family photo. Kindly asked her to take it portrait way (rather than holding phone landscape way) and she passively aggressively asked “any more instructions?” It was ONE photo we asked for. So thankfully we asked Minh to take another one for us which she kindly did with a smile.

When it came to finishing up, a male staff came up and said “Time’s over. We need our table back”. We had no warning nor were told at booking or on arrival there was a time limit. Not to mention there were empty tables around us and they could clearly see our toddler was still eating.

Went to pay our $300 bill and staff just handed over EFTPOS machine and walked off. No thank you, no asking how the meal was, nothing. Frankly we don’t even need you to talk to us but just a thank you or even staying at the till until our payment went through would be standard service. Even the people waiting behind us weren’t sure what was happening and if staff will come back to serve us properly. No doubt we told them how rude you’ve been.

Moral of the story: Below average service saved by 1 lovely staff only. Not worth checking out as there’s plenty of other brunch places that will happily...
