Wren’s Place Bakery Café – Review

I stopped in at Wren’s Place Bakery Café expecting a decent country breakfast and a good coffee. The café itself is spacious and clean, with a casual, small-town bakery feel. The display cabinets were well stocked with pies, sausage rolls, and pastries, and the drinks menu offered a solid variety, including smoothies, milkshakes, and all the standard coffee choices.

I ordered the Very Berry smoothie, which was easily the highlight of my visit – thick, cold, and full of fresh flavour. If you’re after something refreshing, I’d recommend it. Unfortunately, breakfast was where things fell short. I ordered eggs on toast and was surprised to see it arrive on a paper plate, with a disposable knife and fork. For a dine-in café, this instantly felt cheap and out of place. It’s the kind of serviceware you expect for takeaway or at a food truck, not when you’re sitting down inside.

The eggs were cooked fine, but the toast was pale and soft rather than properly browned and crisp. Presentation matters, and this gave the whole meal a lacklustre feel. It’s small details like this – proper crockery, metal cutlery, and toast cooked to a golden brown – that make a big difference in whether a breakfast feels worth the price.

On the plus side, service was polite and the atmosphere was relaxed. Prices are fair for the portion sizes, but the breakfast quality didn’t match the freshness of the drinks.

Verdict: A handy stop for coffee or a smoothie, but I wouldn’t return for breakfast unless they improve the presentation and...

A tiny place with the best tasting cakes, pies, or sandwiches. Everything is served as takeway but there are tables and chairs inside plus there is a small park 50 metres away with parking for cars with campers or caravans.

Northampton is a small country town and many AFL players have from the area. They have life-sized figures basically across the road from the cafe.

I have given 5 stars for atmosphere because it's not flash, very basic table and chairs but the place was busy, lots of locals coming and going chatting among themselves or with the owners, travellers chatting to others about where have come from or going to, giving each others tips and suggestions.

Good food, quick service, and a good atmosphere in a small country town....what more do you...

On our way back from Exmouth to Perth, we found this gem. In a little charm and small town, this lovely cafe made our grey and freezing day so much happier. The best chai latte and a such yummy Turkish toast. My hubby and I really enjoyed every bite of it. Cozy and with a relaxing background music. Super recommend this place. Thanks Wrens cafe and keep this precious spot up.

Lovely friendly service! Sausage rolls were awesome, crispy pastry and tasty inside. Traditional Vanilla slice was great with light crispy pastry, smooth custard and flavoured icing. Also had an Apple Sponge which was light and airy with fresh cream and cinnamon apples. Well worth stopping at this place. Plenty of seating inside and out!
