My partner was starving after trying to order room service with the Tali restaurant and not being able to get anything gluten free for his coeliac request We tried going to the Juicy Rump instead The bar staff was so pleasant and really tried to help It’s disappointing the the restaurant staff could not follow instructions or understand the request given No sauces available gluten free, chips not gluten free as cooked in same deep fryer that has had batter in it, so my partner had to settle on a $35 steak We asked first if he couldn’t have ships could they substitute for steamed veggies or a salad The restaurant wouldn’t Instead the gluten free steak got served on a bed of chips after we requested to have it either not given or at least put separately We put the chips on my plate and partner had to try eat a little bit of the steak (which wasn’t very large for the price given) sorry the pic was after he already ate a bit as was starving Salad didn’t taste very fresh and had a salad dressing on it which also was not gluten free We will definitely not be eating here ever again and would let everyone know they shouldn’t either, especially if they have dietary restrictions The restaurant have absolutely no clue why this is important to customers ordering It would be 1 star but the bar staff were so lovely and tried they best when they wrote in the...
Read moreSo this is my 1st review since I have never had such bad service.
I ordered food for me and my partner nothing complex or that should take long to prepare. A burger and a medium rare steak. It said a 30min wait time even though the restaurant was not busy is a fair turn around time however nearly an hour later we had only received our drinks that had to be corrected. So I went to the bar to enquire what was happening and was passed over to the manger who was unapologetic and tried to tell me that it was only 25 minutes that I had been waiting even though I showed him the order confirmation and the current time in the nicest way possible. He then said there is nothing he can do other than give me a refund or a drink. I took a coke by the time I returned to the table the manger had suddenly arrived with the food.....
No comments he placed the food and walked away I can understand as previously working on retail you don't always want to continue the conversation however both foods was stone cold...
My partner went back with the food as I was starting to loose my patience. They did not apologise again and said we would need to wait further whilst they redo the order.
The manger then come back placing the plates in a huff of a 12 year old and walked off again this time the plates had different sides to what they...
Read moreWe ate here 3 times for dinner during our stay in Crowne Plaza.
Overall, our experience was ok. Staff taking the orders at the till were friendly, but there is no table service. You are given a buzzer to alert you when your meal is ready.
The overall atmosphere is very noisy. The place needs to decide whether it's a sports bar or a restaurant/bistro. There is music playing through the speakers, live music outside on the stage area, and large screens showing sports which are very bright and not pleasant to have in your face whilst trying to enjoy a meal.
For our first dinner, we had the fish and chips with salad. The serving size was good, and the fish was nice.
Our second dinner was rack of pork ribs and chips and steak and chips. My meal of pork ribs was only lukewarm.
Our third dinner was on the smoker night. We ordered the brisket and pulled pork with chips and onion rings as well as the pork belly, pulled chicken with Mac n cheese and coleslaw. While the meats were all well cooked, the coleslaw was tasteless and watery, and the mac n cheese was a lump of gluggy pasta, practically inedible.
On none of the nights was the heat lamps on the kitchen pass on, which would explain the lukewarm meals.
The meals here are average at best, and the person working the pass showing which are your dishes to collect is...
