This was our first visit. We opted for the all you can eat buffet. The regular menu also had a great selection. The restaurant was big, well laid out, and nicely decorated. The staff were friendly, efficient, and attentive. The buffet selection was huge. There was soup, several salads, and meat and vegetarian starters, which included chutney and popadoms.
The main course included 6 chicken and lamb dishes and 6 vegetarian dishes, plus 2 types of rice and 3 types of naan.
For desert, there was an ice cream factory with a freezer full of ice cream, gulab jamuns, kheer (rice pudding), and fruit salad. Plus tea and coffee.
What I liked, especially with the starters and rice, was that they didn't overfill the hot plates. This stopped the food drying out. The attentive staff were behind the counter all the time, and as soon as it was getting low, it was replenished.
The starters were lovely. The chicken was tender, and the fish melted in your mouth. I liked the selection of salad and chutney on offer. I've never seen such a large selection.
The chicken and lamb dishes melted in your mouth. All the dishes had their own unique flavour. I liked their unique chicken tikka dish. It was nothing like your typical British Indian recipe that you get everywhere. The fish Malabar also had a nice twist with made it stand out from the others I've tried. It was lovely to try different dishes. The peshwari garlic and plain naan were cut into nice little pieces, and the biryani rice had lots of flavour.
The gulab jamuns were huge and delicious, and the kheer was nice, especially with the fresh fruit salad.
Overall, the staff were fantastic as soon as you had finished eating what you were eating, they came over to ask if it was ok to take your plate. This allowed you to get a clean plate the next time you went back to the buffet. They were constantly monitoring the buffet, and they were always smiling and friendly. The food was great value for money. The choices on offer were fantastic, and they didn't scrimp on the amount and quality of the meat or flavour at all. They sometimes do at buffets, but certainly not here.
I would definitely recommend coming here to try the food. We had a great experience and will definitely be back again in the future.
EDIT.... We recently returned to try the lunch buffet. Again the staff were friendly and attentive. The food was fantastic. Starters were made in batches to stop it drying out, and to keep it fresh and hot. The naan and bravura were constantly topped up. All the curries were hot and delicious. There were 4 meat and 4 veggie options. My favourite was the goat curry, which melted off the bone and the dal Punjabi, which was rich and creamy. Deserts were lovely traditional dishes, along with fresh fruit salad. New photos of the lunch selection added. Thank you for another...

Read moreThis is the only Indian restaurant with little customer service . I won't go too far back there has always been mistakes writing down orders and what's delivered to us. One of previous orders he forgot to write down popodoms but sent the mint chutney. Wen I called to ask, he said that I never said that when I ordered that I wanted popodums. The manager is always right and customer never is. The latest example of manager is always right was day before. I ordered 4 naans with my dishes. I have been receiving burnt naans with my order and specifically told him I don't want them burnt please. But of course the burnt naan smell was immediately evident upon delivery and on opening the bag I could see they were burnt. I called the manager up to complain, he was rude. After a lot of arguing and him denying that they were burnt. Eventually I got a mobile number which I could send photos of the burnt naans to and he said they wern't burnt but were normal. I have attached the photo. He refused any sort customer service saying that I was wrong the naans were not burnt. I am sitting here eating burnt naans and bland chicken curry and bland daal. I requested that he collects these burnt naans and gives me replacement that weren't burnt. He Told me that I would have to pick them up myself although the order was placed as a delivery as I had no means of transport. n Koh-hi-noor the manager is always right because maybe that's the way the owners want it. I am never going back to such a restaurant. There service and quality of food doesnt even warrant 1 star...
