Hungry Jack's Burgers Port Augusta East — Restaurant in Port Augusta

Ordered a Tendercrisp Peri Peri and received a Tendercrisp Bacon and Cheese. My 15year old took the burger back saying it shouldn't have bacon and cheese counter attendant told her yes it does and then when my daughter said that's not right the attendant confirmed with the manager that it came with bacon and cheese. We had returned our French fries at the same time because they were overcooked and horrible. My daughter returns to the table with the burger and new fries. I google peri peri burger hungry jacks and return to the counter to ask for one. Showing the counter attendant the peri peri burger description on my phone and the same picture on the board. She gets hysterical and starts saying i don't make the burgers, i don't know what's in them. I ask her why didn't she check with someone and I ask for the burger to be made again. We wait for the burger. The manager finally calls out the tender crisp peri peri with bacon and cheese is ready. I think he's joking and I go up to retrieve the burger and confirm they have made the wrong burger twice in a row. I say didn't your staff tell you the original problem, knowing full well that she had. Dale, the very Frazzled manager starts yelling I have five thousand people talking to me, I can't lie en to everyone. It's Easter Monday and yeah there are a couple of cars in the drive thru and the restaurant is a third full if that. Not quite 5000 people Dale and quite normal a normal day for a city store. I said I didn't want another burger just a refund and I also put the rest of our hideous fries on the counter so he could see the quality he was serving. A little more staff and management training as well as some customer service training needed in this store. Plenty of room for improvement...

These numpties only get one star, because zero was not an option. Waited TWENTY MINUTES for a meal at the counter... Staff couldn't be less interested if they tried. I complained after 15 minutes, only to be told they were 'just making' my burger....I WAS THE ONLY CUSTOMER! What the hell are the staff doing back there? Finally got my meal... And they forgot my drink. It was at this point I just smdh & wonder how this place survives. Chips ice cold, burger too hot to eat... What the actual hell are these people doing working in customer service? HJ's management need to put a rocket up these people.... or get rid of them. Visit was 29/05/18 @ 4.40pm - 5pm, for any senior HJ management members interested.... Which I think not. Shame to see young people so disinterested in their job... I'm sure there's literally hundreds of local teenagers that would love to have an...

Ate there twice. First time was on the way up to The Flinders Ranges, wasn't anything to rave about with cold chips (fries) and mediocre burger. The second time was on our way back south. Once again the burger was not good. The manager was terrible, yelling at her employees, yelling orders for the whole lobby to hear, as if it wasn't on a screen in front of the workers. Couldn't help but think that maybe that was the reason for such poor food; store morale in the service industry is everything.
