Everything is deep fried only. I Paid $16 for the mini pack the only thing that wasn't deep fried was the fish as that was the only thing on the entire menu that they could grill. Fish was very undercooked and had no colour or crispness to it and everything else was burnt as it had obviously been cooked at too high of a heat. I also asked for some steamed dim Sims with soy sauce to which the girl said "we don't have soy sauce" when I went to collect my order I asked to buy their $2.50 tartar sauce which they said there would be a surcharge on card (even though I just spent $16 with them) as I didn't have any cash on me. As I was about to leave I noticed there was a big bottle of soy sauce on their bench! I left most of the pack behind as it tasted pretty awful, burnt and bland and the scallop was the size of my hand! That is not normal. Avoid this place, so many better places to eat at! Some restaurants around here are cheaper and way...

We really should of listened to the reviews, but we thought we'll give it a go and make our minds up. First up the fish was terrible not cooked properly at all, everything in family pack crumbed and deep fried, I have to say deep fried mussels was a first for us and definitely a last. The steak burgers terrible, buns stale, steak taste like what a foot would taste like. Instead of just whinging, I'd like to offer some advice from a person who has worked kitchens from Melb to North Queensland, kids that have no experience cooking do not need to be put in a kitchen without supervision of a proper chef, I feel bad for the reputation this will build for them. Get someone in who can cook who will be willing to teach these girls how to cook, let them taste thier food etc, you have a great location, good food cooked with love would bring herds of people, it's...

For our last night in Port we wanted one last fish and chips. Decided on this place due to value for money… or so we thought. Visited early in the day to sus out menu and prices. Older lady, asked if I wanted an menu and my reply was I’m looking for prices (as I took a photo of the menu board) she seemed annoyed. I shrugged it off and later on called through our order. The young girl that served us was probably the only good thing about the place oh and husband says the dim sims. We got the Mixed Pack for 4. The fish had absolutely no flavour, seemed under cooked but the crumb was burnt. The chips were soggy ( travelled 2 mins down the road to caravan park). Potato cakes were fine and the crumbed prawns and calamari again no flavour. Bland, undercooked and seriously these days for $60+ on takeaway fish and chips, we were left hungry and...

I really wanted to love this place given it seemed like a nice little family run business however I arrived about 5:45pm on a Sunday and waited 45 minutes for my takeaway for 1 which cost me $32. The battered fish was undercooked and so I wasn't able to eat it and the calamari and mussel were overcooked and dry. I also ordered chicken salt on my fries and they were plain without the chicken salt (or salt). The tartare sauce was lacking the usual zest/tanginess of a tartare which I love. I'm not sure if it's always this busy but I'm sorry to say it wasn't worth the wait!

Very busy spot. The service was incredibly slow for a take away, took at least 30 mins from order to receive. There just wasn't enough staff on. We ordered the pack for 2 people which had little flavour. My husband and I agreed the prawns smelled and tasted off and sure enough we both had upset stomachs the next morning. The homemade slaw was sickly, it tasted like the had just used Coles bought coleslaw sauce and coleslaw mix. Pretty disappointing for a beach side fish and chip store.

If I could give zero stars I would. This is the worst fish and chips I’ve ever eaten. The potato scallops were soggy like they’d been soaked in oil and went straight in the bin, the chips were under size and it was expensive. Do yourself a favour and go to Dave’s on the main strip, you’ll wait up to half hour but it’s worth the wait. Trust me.
