Average at best. Save your money here and head up the road into town and try one of the numerous restaurants there. The majority of the restaurant is fitted out with dated and sad "bistro style" fittings, indoor especially. A few of the tables are just "shoved in" in random places that don't seem to be a part of the restaurant. We had a 730pm booking and arrived at 730pm, only to be told our table wasn't ready and to sit down while it was reset. Except the place we were told to (not asked to) sit was a random bench seat beside the greeting counter. We weren't even offered the option of ordering from the drinks menu. The staff consistently said they were "very busy" but the restaurant was at most half full when we arrived and basically empty when we left (after a long wait for food). The food menu claims to be and Italian "homage" but in reality is basic pub style pizza pasta and sides, not bad but not amazing, and not worth the prices charged. The steak was nice but not cooked to our request - rare instead of medium rare, medium rare instead of medium - minor things but for a $48 steak I'd at least expect that right. And the food overall took nearly an hour to come out - to their credit the waiter told us it might take a while, but I'm confused why when there was minimal customers. The drinks menu (on that note) was extremely limited, despite the hotel bar being next door. We asked if we could order from that menu and were told no, they were too busy. The drinks menu also had no Coca Cola (only Pepsi). Even worse, when I ordered a glass of the basic house Shiraz (top of the list and the cheapest), I was told they had "run out". You couldn't just open another bottle??? For $14 a glass surely that's reasonable that you just open...
Read moreWe are staying at the Sheraton and dined at Feast last night. The food was good; I had the barramundi from the junior menu earlier in the day too, it was delicious. However... our order was not written down right by the lady who didn’t speak English as her first language, so there was lots of back and forth to get the dishes right, and the sides didn’t arrive at all, and came out a full ten minutes after we’d all been given our mains after flagging that we were waiting for them. The waitress didn’t understand that I wanted to taste the wine before purchasing a bottle, so it was all a bit difficult and clunky. Empty water bottle was taken away without a full one replenishing it. We had to wait a while to get the attention of someone to get more water. Not what we’d expect from the caliber of hotel it sits in, or the money spent at $30-40 a main with $12 sides needed and a $65 bottle of wine that retails for $20 at Dan Murphy’s. Great food, needs some work in polishing the rest of...
Read moreOur family buffet dinner for 5 (2 adults 3 kids all under 12) ended up costing $435 for what was a completely average experience mid week, $89 per adult plus $44.50 per child. A total rip off. Even our most expensive meals in much better restaurants in town were not as costly and far better quality/atmosphere. Would not repeat. Apart from incapable service, the dress code of the average punter leaves much to be desired. Many diners arrive straight from the pool and tank tops/basketball sweaters are the norm. Kids all plugged into devices like parents don’t want them around. Better if they just go to Maccas and not kill the experience for people who genuinely want a nice evening in at the hotel. So apart from ordinary food and service maybe Feast can review its policy on dress code plus plugged in kids giving the place an airport food court vibe. Try melaleuca, Sassi or Zinc in town for a...
