The food was lovely and we were really enjoying our break before returning to Adelaide. We were told by staff that we could bring our friendly leaded kelpie. The owners returned with their young retriever puppy which began running around unsupervised and starting playing with our leaded dog which we put to a stop quickly. The children returned and tied the dog up and then left. She became loose so I retied her in the shade with water. We were just starting to finish our meal when the male owner came over and started talking to us about how the retriever was a resident dog and for that reason they had a nice dog policy. Could we remove our dog from the garden as she was upsetting the balance. We would not have brought her in if we had known this. We finished our meal and hastily left. We won't be...

Booked to be in the beer garden and my sister got a phone call 2 hours before our reservation to say they had double booked it and we were going to be put somewhere else upon arrival we were told we were in a cold, dingy old room out the back. It just got worse from there service was terrible, had to ask for our platters after an hour. Felt sorry for the staff who were run off their feet not enough staff for the amount of customers. The only thing that saved them for a ok review was the food which was very nice when we eventually got it. If u can't give people a decent experience don't book so many in. Very dissapointed in the...

Very disappointing experience at The Rising Sun on Father’s Day. We paid for three servings of food but were told we could only have one container of salad. When we explained we had bought three meals, the lady at the front bar gave us a rude, dismissive look and reluctantly handed us just one more container — still short of what we had paid for.

It’s unacceptable to treat paying customers this way. If three meals are purchased, three full servings should be provided without attitude. Instead, we left feeling disrespected and short-changed on what should have been a special day. Poor service like this reflects badly on the...

Midweek lunch, good variety on the menu. Nicely prepared, pleasant staff and reasonable price. I had garfish and chips. Would have appreciated a small salad on the side and a few less chips, but that’s probably just me. Lots of vintage photos around the pub from the local area. Interesting little town once you’re off the main thoroughfare. Walked around the streets to the start of the “Walk the Yorke” trail down by the water was definitely worth the time.

My daughter loves to go for long drives. So I googled a place to go for lunch. The Rising Sun Hotel was a charming and rustic place with amazing food. We enjoyed our steak and crispy salmon. The beer garden at the back acted as a nice space to look at whilst eating. We had fun throwing and kicking the football and even enjoyed a spot of eye spy with all the unique objects and art around. We will be returning for sure.

I was a little disappointed with the food tonight, lady at the bar very friendly no problems there. When the food came out, Salmon was over cooked with way to much salt on it, not many veggies," must have been busy last night and they run out of veggies". My seafood basket or what ever they called it was just a couple of pieces of fish fried prawns and scallops and chips. No Salad, No veggies.😥
