KFC Portland — Restaurant in Portland

Ordered online and went in to the counter to ask a question about my order and walked past 2 staff which I assume were on break hanging at the front door chatting, a little unprofessional but no biggie. At the counter the staff, he saw me from the back and didn't attempt to come to the front, I figured they were busy with 2 orders including mine. He came around to front several times he do whatever he was doing and looked at me a couple of times with no acknowledgement for the time I spent at the counter. The experience from the start was not very welcoming and the store lacked any sort of customer service and care for their customers. Having a sales management background and had owned my own food business, it was appalling. The previous reviews on this page seem to be consistent with the lack of due care and quality customers...

Having spent my life in retail and retail management I am always the first to defend retail assistants but cannot say anything good about the young guy that just served me. Simple request of 3 piece box no thighs. He first takes a while to serve whilst he stands there staring into space. Then gives me a box with 2 potato and gravy in but no chips. then gives me back the box which now has a thigh in it. Then give me back the same box and the thigh is still in there. He then decides to get an attitude and purposely give me 3 legs which were disgusting and not up to kfc standard. Not surprising to get it back and find no cutlery. Having trained hundreds of retail assistants in my life I have never seen anyone so unemployable than this kid. Dont know whether he was drugged up or not but the appalling reviews of this place...

We called in for lunch on Thursday 23/11/2023 as we normally do. We have been to Portland KFC several times over the years and I've always had a good experience there. Again our experience was really good. We had the usual, a couple of burgers and I got a large chips to. I just have to say the chips were some of the best I've ever tasted from any KFC. They were very very good. I always have loved KFC chips. KFC chips are the best and those I had at Portland were exceptional, piping hot very crispy, cooked to perfection and nicely salted. I was very impressed and I felt I needed to say well done to the staff. I know it's just chips but these were just noticeabley of a very high standard and I really enjoyed them.
