Service was poor from the majority of staff, rude and slow service (although service from one team member was outstanding the rest left a lot to be desired). Free pool on Sunday nights - table was not free as "the person with the key to the table was not available" and our group ended up spending quite a bit of money to play, when questioned about how this could be rectified we were ignored and no alternative was offered. We had arrived at 530 on Sunday, they have a Sunday sippers drinks 4pm - 6pm, our group ordered one round and went up for second when we were refused even though it was clearly before 6pm. Our drive over Mount Glorious brought us to Fernvale by lunchtime. We gave the small tavern a go but without any great expectations. We were extremely pleased to receive excellent bistro food as well as friendly service. The lone chef did a great job to get out meals to hungry patrons in a short time. We started with toasted bread and three delicious dips before the mains arrived. My rump steak was tasty, my wife’s lasagne excellent, and two chicken parmigiana were enjoyed by our companions. I have to say the bar staff were sweet but the management was terrible asked for a couple of glasses of red wine we were charged $20 one of the glasses was from an old bottle and second glass from a new bottle . The first glass was off obviously been open and sitting around gif a while . The manager came out and said replace but charged us for the bottle another &23 for a small bottle the poor girl that served us the manger made feel small and like she had done something wrong.
