Commercial Hotel — Restaurant in Queensland

An amazingly great place. I was in the region on business, so stopped in most afternoons for 2-3 drinks. The staff are shockingly amazing, and it felt like you were old friends after the second beer. The Manager, Toby, is pure gold, friendly, super accomadating and utterly welcoming. His staff make the likes of the staff at the Qantas Business lounge look like amateurish, children. Supervisor, Candy (Candice) is possibly the nicest, polite Bar Attended I have ever met. She treated you like a member of the family. Soooooo.... the pub is clean, super clean. The beers and gin selection would leave a Brisbane pub envious. The food, is quality, I mean real quality. So in summary, one of the best pubs in Qld... there must be something in the water to...

Really disappointed I ordered a meal on the menu listed as LG - low gluten. Meal arrived and I took it to the bar to double check and it was fully gluten! No apology or effort to help me out with another option. One girl said ‘just give her the drinks’ but they were essentially paid for as I didn’t get the meal I paid for!!! I told them to forget about me ordering another meal as I didn’t trust that it would be low gluten. Room as ok - clean and tidy. Shared bathroom and other areas a bit gross as the shower was dirty with loads of people’s personal care products. Located at the top of the town, it would be hard to miss this hotel. Massive drive in bottles for locals too. The actual building is authentic early C20 complete with a maze of narrow corridors thanks to successive ad hoc makeovers and improvements to facilities.

We were drawn here by a smoky barbecue lunch with live music Sunday Session. Not recommended for vegans or even vegetarians, and even for carnivores, the low and slow smoked ribs, beef and pork along with pulled pork and smoked bangers will have you in meat overdose, before you even look at the lattice fries.
