This place is awesome! We stayed a few nights in Babinda and came here every day for lunch, the vibe’s so good we couldn’t get away. We tried the kanga toastie, chicken toastie and salads - all delicious, fresh and just what we felt like in the heat. The màtes and sodas stood out, they brew them in-house and have a range of natural flavours. Definitely worth a stop-in on your way to the Boulders.

I stopped at one of the camping grounds in Babinda. This is definately the best cafe to grab a bite or try their amazing coffee. The people that work their are lovely and have really good energy! Coffee was great! I loved the vibes to the cafe. I didn't get to check out their range of indigenous teas but will have to come back there again to try it!

New cafe so we decided to try it. Can’t believe there has been positive feedback on this cafe? The toasted sandwich menu looked promising but the service was so bad it was almost comical, including delivering us the wrong food (there were only two tables with people in the cafe), then the manager coming over and saying “I hear there is an issue with the ginger spritz?”, not our table!! They only sold “gourmet toasted sandwiches” and mine finally arrived as two cold rubbery pieces of bread (not toasted) with a piece of lettuce and some cold rubbery bacon. I took it back and just asked for my money back. He said he would refund when we left and would also serve a hot toasty. 20min later we left and I asked for the refund and said I didn’t actually get the hot toasty. “Yes you did, she brought it over to you” “No they didn’t, you can check” “Oh well, must’ve been delivered to another table…” I said I was hungry but I ate the cold rubbery crusts of my husbands toasty. He then offered me some cake but I just walked out of the shop.

Babinda Bakery down the road has the best pies so I ate...

We were really looking forward to trying Hey Mate, but unfortunately our experience was quite disappointing. Our food took 45 minutes to arrive, and no one let us know there would be such a long wait. When the meals finally came out, they were served separately: mine arrived a full 10 minutes before my partner’s. The hash brown was also undercooked, which was a let-down. Overall, the service felt slow and uncoordinated. Hopefully just an off day, but worth flagging for anyone expecting a quicker or...

Passed by this high quality café in little Babinda by chance. What a surprise!! Really, really good food and coffee. Had the best Acai in my life, a sourdough toast with eggs and avocado and lovely coffee. My wife had an icetea and a tasty Fresh chicken salad and my boys took the hot toasties and the homemade sodas. Soooo gooood!!! You don’t really expect to get this good food in such a small town. Food went first to my guts and then directly into my heart. Plan a stop here, and then do the...
