Hospitality, from the Latin âhospitalisâ - being hospitable. A rainy day in Beaudesert, with no dining-in available at Maccas due to renovations, we thought weâd be a bit cheeky and take our happy meals to HJ, put our 1-year old baby in a high chair so he could have his own snack, and I would buy a coffee. As luck would have it, the franchisee was in the booth next to us, and told my daughter ânext timeâ not to bring outside food as he spent âa million dollarsâ on his business and we donât âpay his billsâ. He argued that McDonalds was open. He made my daughter feel unwelcome, and we left to eat in the car in the rain. There will never be a ânext timeâ as I will never stop there again on my regular trips; I will share this tale of rude, unfriendly, unnecessary, and inhospitable behaviour widely. He missed a genuine marketing opportunity to capitalise on McDâs renovations. Imagine how different it could have been with a bit of friendly banter and a invitation to come back any time. A lovely lady customer walked out in solidarity and we appreciated that gesture greatly. Without a true understanding of hospitality, a retail business will fail. Appreciation to the barista who made my coffee. We had been admiring the lovely Christmas display in the windows. Such a contrast to the ownerâs unpleasant behaviour. He turned a lovely interlude into a stressful and distasteful encounter. I would give zero...
Read moreOrdered a Turkish blat and was given a Turkish bl missing avocado and tomato so I drove back through drive thru and they hand me a wrap, I ask why and she tells me this is what I ordered, I again ask for a Turkish blat to which she looks confused and kept asking me to explain, I ask to speak to the manager warren, he looked at me blankly as I repeated my order and then goes to get the order yet comes back to ask again if I wanted egg and if I wanted Turkish or a bun, I ask him to repeat the product and he comes back with a Turkish blat with uncooked bacon and half a slice of tomato which I show him and he tells me itâs good enough, so I ask for a refund, meanwhile he hasnât apologised for this situation or the 25mins of my wasted time, he canât give a refund onto my card so gives me cash and I ask for the person who served me name and he refuses to give me it, refused to give me his manager name only that itâs Keira and wouldnât give me an email or phone number to contact her, he then tells me that I can leave and make my complaint as he doesnât care as I have a refund and Iâm holding up the line. Actually warren and his incompetent staff held up the line. He should be removed as he sets a bad example for his staff and created a negative experience when all he needed to do was fix the mistake and apologise but he is clearly too dense.    Read more.....Today Jack got even hungrier then usual - After completing the impersonal touch screen order, under the assumption that it saves time, I patiently waited for my order to be made and brought to the service counter. Passing the time watching several meals get prepared and given to drive thru customers....the staff continued to take orders directly from the service counters....as well as the drive thru customers....meals being prepped and given out to more drive thru customers...yet I still waited....and waited...and finally I asked a staff member if I was in any danger of receiving my order soon as 15 solid minutes had past by since I had printed my order confirmation. I noticed the staff member grab an order from the HLZ and pass it to me....then disappear behind the soft drink machine and prep my drink. Seems it was the last part of my order to be prepared. So from in store order to my hand.....almost 17 minutes had past by. My food was barely warm...and the soft drink was the wrong flavour. Hungry Jacks Slowdesert.
