IzzyChai Modern Asian Cuisine — Restaurant in Queensland

We’re staying in the hotel , and we booked 5 hours prior, with no worries for 6:30pm, and then I ring up an hour a later to change the booking to 6pm, with no worries at all. We then proceeded to the restaurant as we were super excited to try the Thai restaurant as it is our favourite food. As we walk in, we didn’t get a welcome, and had to find someone to direct us. We then get to a lady name shay who worked there and said we didn’t have a booking with them, I then proceeded to show her my call log of their phone number. We then got treated so disrespectfully and got told to sit at table 12, with a point in the direction to then be found out there was no table 12 and we stood their lost. The lady then came out with a disgusting manner and told us to sit there. By then she was so rude to us that we didn’t even want to be there, we had to ask how to order , and then we ordered and she said “is that all you want” so disrespectfully and rude. This moment we thought we really wanted to enjoy was just ruined my this awful lady. We then got charged because we brung our own drinks which we thought we could do, we had no idea we were going to be charged. The food was ok. Went to Izzy Chai on a Friday afternoon after a long day of work with a colleague, for a snack and a few drinks. Great venue, but unfortunately this is where the good ended. Bar Staff seemed unhappy to have customers there. Jack daniels charged at $11 a nip- at the high end, but on the menu advertised at that price, and a nive benue, so no complaint.

Went to pay the bill. Absolutely horrified to be charged $4 for mixer for each drink (and it was just coke) asked the staff what this was about. Explained that they have to charge $4 mixer with every nip- full soft drink price. I told them every bar in australia includes a mixer (especially at $11 a nip) and at worst case the odd bar that has cheap nips charges $1-$1.50 for mixer. Nope, wern’t having a bar of it, chatged $15 per jack daniels and coke. Absolutely ridiculous, a total joke. Ruined our whole experience.$4 for 100mls of soft drink in my $11 nip....

Made a reservation for my partner and I. Arrived and our table had been given to someone else. We were given another table that was situated in the middle of the walk way, such a awkward spot. So we asked if we could sit outside at the high tables. No problems there, were given menus and water. Decided what we wanted and waited to be served. After making eye contact with multiple staff, we were waiting 20+ minutes before we decided to go somewhere else. Yes the restaurant was busy, however there were plenty of tables vacant and we grew frustrated as we watched customers who arrived after us be served first. Reservations should be priority, especially when there were hiccups from the beginning. Was so excited to try the food but unfortunately have no desire to go...
