KFC Hermit Park — Restaurant in Queensland

It was Friday afternoon, 5.35pm and I was hungry. I had just been deceived by Australia Post's inconsistent opening hours once again (see Kaartinen-Price et al., 2021 for details). I pulled into the drive through section of the dirty bird (or as I like to call her, the good chook) ready to drown my disappointment in a combo of the kernels finest. I was greeted by friendly staff and an extremely fast service. After doing a drive-by grab on my bag of crunchy goodness, as it was efficiently thrust out the window upon my approach. I reached delicately into it, to sample my precious. My fingers were greeted by a new sensation. On closer inspection I found the warmly written Christmas card pictured.

I am extremely impressed, firstly by the supreme insight of the staff in recognising just how special and amazing I am. I still have trouble convincing those around me of this, but such is the life of a food critique.

And secondly for the effort that must have gone into hand writing these cards. It is a very sweet gesture for their customers at this busy time of year.

Well done KFC Hermit Park, you guys...

Today I went to Hermit park KFC and had a terrible experience. I ordered a Mega chicken box and my order number was 307. I was waiting for my order patiently. I was called for order number 306 but I told them my order was 307. Again I was called but there was only the chicken box and the worker who called me started taking another order even before I reached to grab my order. I was not sure whether it was my order as there should be a drink included in the order. So, another worker came and I asked him whether it was the correct order. He started to check my order. The other worker who packed my order previously, came to the other worker who was checking my order and told him ‘these are the same in the boxes’ and took the box from him and threw it on the table for me very rudely. The other worker who tried to check the order also looked shocked seeing this. Then I told the other worker there should be a drink included and he gave me a drink.

Thanks for hands down the worst take away experience I’ve ever had.

My partner and I ordered a 10 peice pack of chicken, 5 original and 5 hot and spicy. They gave us 4 original and 6 hot and spicy, the chicken was that old and soggy that one drum stick had literally no meat on it.

We ordered 3 large chips and got 4, ALL of the chips were dry and had no salt (not what we ordered).

We also ordered 2 zinger bacon burgers one without mayonnaise, the bacon was soggy on both and both had mayonnaise.

Lastly we ordered for home delivery through Menulog, our Menulog driver was made to wait 55 minutes for this and another other for another customer.

This is disgusting and we will NEVER order from the hermit park...
