Went for dinner Friday night, was seated & offered table water immediately on arrival. Ordered some cocktails & arranchi trio to start which came out really fast & was soooo delicious, will say the frozen daiquiri could use a bit more flavour but it was still good & refreshing, we especially loved the mushroom arranchini. Ordered the Linguine al Gamberi (creamy prawn pasta) which I asked staff to add truffle oil & was brought out with dish on the side free of charge, Gnocchi di Zucca (pumpkin gnocchi) & Gnocchi alla Sebastien (fried gnocchi). All food came out fast & was delicious! I had the linguine & I have to say it was the best pasta I have ever eaten, super fresh & authentic & was a generous serve of pasta! Ordered pina colada’s which was also one of the best pina coladas I have had, was delicious! All staff were super attentive and kind, always checking on us & taking empty dishes away almost immediately. The atmosphere is beautiful & would be such a romantic date spot. Wanted to try the desserts but we were all way too full from the big servings of pasta. All in all we will 100% be back in the near future!

A Disappointing Experience I rarely write reviews, but our experience at this restaurant was so unpleasant that I feel compelled to share. From the moment we sat down, things went downhill. Despite the restaurant being empty, we were rudely told by the owner to move from our table to a smaller one. This lack of courtesy set the tone for the evening. The bruschetta was, frankly, awful. The tomatoes were overripe, lacked any seasoning, and had none of the garlic or herbs that make a bruschetta worth eating. It was a bland, mushy mess. When our pizzas arrived, there was no room to place them on the tiny table. The waiter seemed flustered, clearly at a loss for what to do, but even after we suggested moving to a larger table, the owner refused. We had to use a chair to hold one of the pizzas—an absurd and uncomfortable solution. As for the pizzas themselves, they were soggy and the toppings were sparse, far from what we had hoped for. The whole dinner was frustrating and unenjoyable, from the rude service to the subpar food. I would not recommend dining here if you value good food or respectful treatment.

We came to Paolo’s for dinner and brought our infant daughter. When I booked, I requested a high chair, but one wasn’t provided. Thankfully, we were able to keep her in the pram. The waitstaff seated us and offered still, sparkling, or tap water — we chose still, not realising this came at an added cost. We ordered two pizzas and a couple of mocktails. The mocktails arrived quickly and were enjoyable. The pizzas were nice and cooked well. I ordered the Prawn Siciliana, which only had a few prawns on it — a few more would have made it better. The second pizza was the Patatte & Prosciutto Cotto. The menu described it as having scalloped potatoes, but what arrived looked more like clumps of mashed potato, which was disappointing. Another small issue was that the restaurant’s website shows two different menus depending on where you click, which made it confusing when deciding what to order ahead of time. Overall, it was a pleasant experience but there’s definitely room for improvement. The venue is quite small, so I’d recommend booking a table in advance.

Waited about 2 hours to be told our food hadn’t been made. Checked with our server a number of times throughout and was told we were “next in line” or it was “coming soon”.

Edit: In response to owners message. We left at 9pm, we ordered only 1 carbonara and 1 pizza and dined in. Carbonara never came, pizza came at 8:35. Thats 2.5 hours. We were patient throughout and were really excited to try the carbonara and disappointed when it didn’t arrive. When we left we were asked if we wanted the kitchen to make it for us or have it removed, we didn’t want to wait any longer and left.

Second edit: Look, not going to argue over my review with the owner. Your first message said we ordered at 6:30, so I assumed you were correct, but I think we ordered at 7ish. Our entree definitely didn’t come in 25 minutes and the pizza did not come shortly after our entree, we had to move inside because my partner was freezing. The table seated next to us (table of 4) all had been served and had eaten by the time our pizza came. When offered the Carbonara at 9pm (which it definitely was as we have photos and of when our entree and pizza arrived and kept our receipt), my partner decided she didn’t want to wait as it was too cold and we were offered to have it removed, which we did and went home. I apologise if you think my partner was being rude, but as we had been waiting so long in the cold she just wanted to go home and we made no comments about our wait time and had been patient and kind with staff throughout.

This is my last edit, so if you respond it will be ignored, I just wanted to pass on my experience and how we felt following service here. I tried to be as nice as I could, but felt like I was attacked following my review. Honestly, all the servers were nice and friendly, just disappointed by our wait time and attack from the owner...

Seems like the place is going down the hill. First just read the Owners replies for people on Google reviews.

Walked in tonight with my wife and two kids. Asked their entrée pizza for the kids as they like garlic bread and that would be enough for them as dinner. Asked for a 25 dollars pizza for myself and another 23,50$ for my wife. We didn’t order drinks at first because we would wait for pizzas and we where very clear to bring all pizzas and entree together as the kids would have the entree.

Waitress had an attitude as we didn’t ask for drinks at first and also asked for entree for the kiddos. Which is actually more expensive then kids pizza. Anyways… she maybe thought we were there to waste her time. Even after ordering equivalent to 70$ just for food and drinks after would be about 90 to 100$ bill.

Waitress placed the order of entree only and waited my kids to finish the entree then she could bother to send our pizzas to kitchen. As my kids took about 20 minutes to eat plus the 15 minutes we were already waiting before the entree we sit there for 35 minutes to get to know our pizza were not cooking or even being prepared yet.

We were very clear on the instructions but it looks like the Karen waitress was too angry to understand a simple message to bring everything together at once.

For the owner a bill that would be 100$ to the business came to 16$ and 2 very unhappy customers.

Not expecting the owner to apologise as it seems by his comments on Google reviews that everything is customers fault or “customer can never be happy”.

I would be happy if I could sit down at your business and have a great time with my family but all we had was frustrating customer service and a hungry tummy.

Next time will end up going to La Bella Italia.

Unfortunately two less customers...

It is an insults for Italian food and culture, the service terrible! The blonde waitress so rude took the menu from my hands to give it to the next table and dont give it back! Dont check on my family if we need drinks, i had to call another waitress for drinks and 30 minutes to bring a drink for my child, terrible pizza and the rocket in the capressa Salad for animals, Dry and not even a bit of olive oil, this people should visit Italy before try to imitate their food... just embarrassing 😳 Semplicemente una brutta esperienza, non mangiare qui mai. Servizio malissimo. Pobre gente! PD: i already seen the passive agressive way that you respond to the costumers trying to justify your horrible behaviour, without any kind of apology and well of course we will never go back there! And for your information you or you staff never took an order to the bar because it was never one! And we didn't eat the food as we left everything intact in the table! That is how horriblethe food was!! I had to ask for the drinks myself as you took the menu from my hands without any kind of respect. But what I can say?? Customers are always right, and this shows your struggles, not mines... had a...
