Our family holiday at the Torquay Hotel in Hervey Bay was absolutely wonderful! From the moment we arrived, we were impressed by the warm and welcoming atmosphere of this iconic hotel.
The location is perfect—right in the heart of Torquay, just a short stroll from the stunning beach. The hotel’s proximity to local attractions, shops, and cafes made it incredibly convenient for us to explore Hervey Bay without any hassle.
The rooms were spacious, clean, and thoughtfully furnished to provide maximum comfort. The beds were incredibly cozy, ensuring a restful night’s sleep after our fun-filled days. We appreciated the modern amenities and attention to detail, from the crisp linens to the spotless bathrooms.
The hotel’s facilities were excellent. The outdoor seating areas were perfect for relaxing with a drink while soaking in the laid-back coastal vibe. The kids loved the nearby park and beach access, while we enjoyed the convenience of having everything we needed right at our doorstep.
One of the highlights of our stay was the on-site bistro. The food was fresh, delicious, and offered something for everyone in the family. From hearty pub classics to lighter options, every meal was a treat. The friendly staff ensured that we felt well looked after, and their service was impeccable throughout our stay.
The hospitality at the Torquay Hotel truly stood out. The staff were attentive, accommodating, and always ready to assist with a smile. Whether it was providing local tips or making sure our dining experience was flawless, their dedication to guest satisfaction was evident.

Read moreTHE FULL FAWLTY TOWERS DINING EXPERIENCE Came here for dinner with partner. Ordered 6 oysters kilpatrick and a main each. The oysters didn't show up however our mains did. Told waitress that we didn't get oysters. Waitress did not ask whether we still wanted them, but went off to see what had happened to them. Half way through our meal, waitress turns up with a cold plate of oysters kilpatrick and told us that the first lot got taken to the wrong table which people ate, the second lot then also got taken to the wrong table, the people sent it back then they served it to us cold. We didn't eat them. Then the waitress turns up with another lot of 6 oysters. We tell her we don't want them as we're finished with our mains. Then I find something hard and crunchy looking like something fried in the middle of my main which was spaghetti marinara. This did not belong in there. At this point I stopped eating my meal. I then saw a waitress come toward the table with another two plates of oysters but then walked away again. There was no offer of a refund, and the food and service was so bad we didn't even bother asking for a refund. in all, 3 dozen oysters wasted, a foreign object in my main, and some of the worst customer service I've ever experienced. Will...
Read moreRecently had a 4pm meet-up with visiting old friends (& some new) in the garden bar area - where our 7mnth old puppy (recovering from a serious illness and not able to be left at home alone) was welcome. Everything went without a hitch UNTIL (as the designated driver) I asked for a coffee - we had a long drive home and everyone had just finished eating at this point so it wasn't exactly late dinning wise. Disappointingly my husband was refused this request by one of the the kitchen staff. However, a little later, our friends (from Brisbane and somewhat gob smacked by this refusal) approached a lass called Dee who was busy clearing tables. My coffee request was consequently filled not only with a SMILE (having gone off to make it herself); but accompanied by MOST sincere apologies and ultimately (at her insistance) NO CHARGE! This followed with EVERY member of our group saying they were THOROUGHLY impressed by Dee's 'customer service' (deserving of no less than a bonus for 'reading' her clientele and assuring their future custom 😬); and as a result of her attentiveness our somewhat battle weary and withdrawn little puppy clearly adored her too 😊 You will go far young lady...
