I ate the fish and chips which were decent.

I asked for tap water but was told because of the coronavirus pandemic they don't serve tap water and you need to buy a bottle of water for $3.50 instead. I've eaten at a lot of sit down restaurants and cafes in Queensland and this is the first one which refuses to serve tap water and uses the covid excuse to do so. I'm not against places charging a dollar or two for tap water as they need to make a profit but I think it's disingenuous to use covid as a reason not to serve tap water. In other ways the restaurant doesn't comply with covid rules (I wasn't asked to provide my contact details despite sitting down and there are no hand towels in the toilet to wash your hands properly).

The staff say there is a policy that they only do take out after 130pm. I arrived in the restaurant before 130pm and put my order in at 130pm and had to basically beg to sit in the cafe rather than get the take out.

Staff...

Ordered a piece of fish and a fish sandwich - waited over 45 minutes - after 20 minutes asked how long it would be - to be told o sorry I forgot to ask how do you like your fish done ? Ummmm medium rare ? So advised batttered - waited another 15 minutes and asked again to be told it was being wrapped up - in the meantime I was watching people who had been served after me receiving their orders - waited another 10 minutes and asked for my money back - whilst there observed another gentleman waiting patiently at the counter for about five minutes for someone to serve him - could not fault the service - there wasn’t any - reading through previous reviews - rather then accept constructive criticism they either advise that people are commenting on wrong establishment - or are totally defensive and are obviously not taking it on board - will not be back - and anyone reading this I would not believe the star rating it...

Great location, but sadly terrible coffee. Had to return it, and this seemed to cause offence. The replacement coffee was not any better.

Recommend barristar training to allow correct coffee making and customer satisfaction.

Post review note : I have since seen reply from restaurant.. And I believe this supports my point... I was certainly not rude at all, and politely noted the coffee was not as expected, the server (I hesitate to use the word barrista, as I do not think barrista training was evident) clearly took offence, and wrote the scathing reply to my review, instead of trying to improve the coffee quality.

All I can say to any coffee lover is "cavet emptor", or in simpler terms...avoid this restaurant if you enjoy coffee and have an aversion to...

We ate lunch at Seabreeze Cafe Lounge in Cardwell on the way to Daintree. Upon entering, we saw homemade cakes (Carrot, Black Forest, Red Velvet & Cheese) and scones, and I thought it might serve good homemade food as well. I was right! The split pea soup was absolutely delicious, just as I remembered it as a child. My friend had a ham cheese and tomato on toasted bread. Also delicious! For dessert we had a piece of the Carrot cake. Fantastic. Highly recommend!!

Nice coffee shop in the middle of Cardwell, near the Jetty. I noticed some customers getting an Iced Chocolate, so I ordered one of these and a bacon and egg roll. They were both delicious. Well priced. Location is fabulous, across the road for the beach and the Esplanade walk . Great view ! Plenty of inside seating, and outside seating is under cover. Away from the hot midday sun, but enjoying the cool Coral Sea breeze.
