The Andergrove Tavern — Restaurant in Queensland

Absolutely appalling food service, meal and customer service. I went for dinner with friends and after being told not once, not twice but three times that what I ordered was not available, I settled for a crumbed steak and calamari topper. After an argument about a $6 difference on a meal that wasn't even available, we then had to use my card to settle the $1.50 difference. The duty manager was arguing it was $1 and I couldn't be bothered with the uneccesary drama this woman was carrying on with. When our meals finally arrived I had no topper, my sides were wrong, my sauce was missing and my husbands ribs had a pitiful amount of meat. I eventually got my correct order (still no topper), however, my steak was about as thick as a piece of shaved ham. To top it off they took my husbands CORRECT meal back as well and changed his sides so he now had an incorrect meal. By this time our friends and family had all finished their meals, the waitress was fried and the duty manager had the worst attitude and was rude and of little help. She eventually chased up my topper, too little too late. We left severly unsatisfied, quite disgruntled, still hungry and with a $50 voucher that we can only use at this venue! A couple of hours later, a ruined night out with friends, a massive debacle and horrible service; needless to say we will not be going back. Absolutely...

If I could rate this place out of 5 I wouldn’t rate it at all. Made a booking for 5 adults plus a toddler for my fathers birthday for 6:30pm we arrived on time ordered our meals at 7:00pm. Got a starters of some garlic bread which came that was fine. Ordered a couple of drinks to buy pass time by now it’s 7:50pm and our meals still haven't arrived we saw people who arrived after us were getting served their meals. I walked up to the bar to ask how long our meals were going to be and informed the young lady we have been waiting for quite some time. Unfortunately the young girl couldn’t give me a time only roughly another 15mins. I then went back and sat down at my table and she came over after talking to the chef and apparently their was another 5 dockets before us and we were going to have to wait longer. By this time we had enough waiting my child was hungry and grumpy. Decided to leave and ask for a refund. And they had the cheek to deduct the money from the garlic bread off the refund they gave back. I was absolutely appalled their was no communication what so ever about our meals being late or that there was going to be a long wait. And we didn’t even get an apology!! Due to being so late there was no where else to go eat we decided to go home and it took us 10mins to cook a meal for 5. Moral off the story we should of...

We’re tourists from Sydney just trying to find a place to eat on a late Sunday night. Showed up at this pub at 8:02 pm, only to be met with attitude from Mileya and Taylar (the duty manager). There were four adults and three kids, and we were immediately told the kitchen closes in 30 minutes. Instead of being helpful, Taylar stressed that since we had no reservation, they technically couldn’t seat groups over six—despite plenty of empty tables.

TL;DR: They reluctantly let us in. We ordered fast before the kitchen closed, ate quickly, and at 8:39 pm, simply asked for table water—only to be told, “No, we’ve packed up, and we’re not unpacking again.”

The staff was dismissive, rude, and clearly more interested in clocking out than offering even basic service. The food was fine, but the attitude ruined everything. Won’t be back, won’t recommend—if you don’t like hospitality, maybe...
