If there’s an option for zero star i would give that. I have ordered bhuna chicken, prawn biryani, garlic nan, gulab jamun, and Kashmiri pulav out of this the only best thing is gulab jamun everything else is really bad not at all good. I was travelling for last 10 hours and really in need for good dinner and i can say that this is the worst food i have ever had. Prawns in the biryani are undercooked and they smell really bad. Chicken bhuna in not at all bhuna it felt like just a normal chicken curry not at all worth trying. Rice doesn’t taste good and it doesn’t have any aromatic flavour in it the proper basmati rice should have its own flavour but this kitchen’s rice doesn’t have any flavour it smelt like turmeric (may be used too much turmeric for colouring the rice). And yes i rang the store and told them about the food they said they would replace it but I don’t want to waste my 50 minutes again for that food. They are telling that it was their first time getting some negative review and then i went back to reviews and i have noticed several negative reviews. I should have checked their reviews before going in there. Even the nan bread is undercooked on the edges and in the centre. I have a kitchen and i know how we should make the food. And I don’t know how this kitchen is surviving with this type of food. I strongly recommend people not to go there and waste their money and time. Not at all...
Read moreI’m giving this place a 5star because my meals were amazing. The best Indian we’ve had since Olive Tree in Gladstone. And despite all the Indian restaurants in the area, in my opinion, it’s still difficult to get even ‘good’ Indian. This place has the best Indian in Rocky and Gladstone.
The reception was busy but also welcoming. She did a great job juggling everybody. The setting of the restaurant was very beautiful and well layed out. Made for a nice evening. The door noise was exceptionally loud and because it is such a busy place, did become a bit annoying. I felt like I needed to cover my ears every time it opened and closed. But, the food was so good that the door beeper won’t deter me from going back again.
The menus was hard to read. It is set up like a book. And it looks good but I didn’t find it very practical. In my opinion it needs to be simplified.
Again, I loved the food! Had chicken biryani, chicken tikka, lamb madras, pulav rice, garlic naan and 2 desserts, cashew kheer and a honey custard dish with two sweet balls in it. Delicious!
I highly recommend...
Read moreIf you are after authentic spicy Indian food that's not de-spiced and thereby destroyed just to cater for the typically bland Australian palate, then this is the place to go. The dishes are nicely presented, they look appetising and the flavours are strong, just how they should be and just how I like them. Last time, for entree, I had the Chicken Wings marinated in yoghurt with fresh herbs and spices and roasted in the tandoor and served with mint chutney and a sweeter spicy concoction, while for main course, I had the hotly spiced Hyderabadi Bhoona Ghost with beef, a specialty from the royal state of Nizam, famous for royal banquets. Both were delicious, my only complaint being that the chicken wings were rather undercooked, which I mentioned to the friendly service personnal. This won't deter me however, as I appreciate the real Indian flavours and presentation and I shall be back to try the rest...
