Now, I do not work in a Coffee shop for a living however I do know what a flat white is because I make them every day in my kitchen. I simply asked for 2 flat whites, full cream milk, one shot, one and a half sugars in each, and NO froth which I repeated because, as I said, it's a flat white. I have noticed that what used to be a large cup has been slimmed down a size, no doubt for extra profit, and they have now added another size which will cost you $8.50. So, I go back to the car and remove the lids of my two flat whites because I was going to pour them into my Thermos flask for the trip back to Cooktown. Both coffees had that much froth they looked like they were cappuccinos. What the...... So I went back and said very respectfully, I specifically asked for NO froth, may I have two coffees please with no froth. I was provided with two more coffees, and yes, with froth though not as much the second time. I only gave the extra point because they did replace my two coffees and because I am not able to give .5 of a point. If I was to let the coffee stand fror a while until the froth settles I would be lucky to have three quarters of a cup full of coffee. I believe that the mark up on coffee is shameful, and given all the coffee shops and vans where you can buy coffee I might just be right. I can buy the same flat white in a Coffee shop in Smithfield for $3 if it is before 9am. The same coffee goes up to $6.50 after...

I needed a break from being stuck in the house with an injured shoulder and decided to come and try out this cafe. It was a lovely and warm experience and not just the beautiful interior with the fairy lights and comfortable and cosy furniture. It was the warm and genuine greetings and hospitality from the people who run it. The recommendation from Hayley of a mince and cheese jaffle for breakfast was spot on and she made my coffee to my specifications. It came hot and strong. A wonderful brew. To top it off, I had a coughing fit and she came over with a glass of water for me which was much appreciated. I didn't have to ask for it and it came with genuine concern. Clean, great athmesphere, fantastic coffee served in double layered glass, so you don't burn your fingers. Plenty attention to detail A lot of goodies made on the premises. Beautifull staff.
