I ordered takeaway as I was passing through, that was no issue. I ordered queso dip with corn chips, jalapeno poppers and pulled pork enchilada.

As the man taking my order knew I was travelling, he suggested I heat the queso up myself at home. I was a bit confused by this, as I have had queso a few times elsewhere and even made it myself, so I didnt really understand what he meant but I just agreed with him. Well imagine my absolute amazement and horror to find that the queso dip FOR SEVENTEEN DOLLARS is just a tub of grated cheese (pre grated from a bag!!!!) with some salsa through it. Absolutely woeful, not queso at all and I can't believe you get away with it. That pretty much set the tone for the meal unfortunately.

The jalapeno poppers I ate fresh from pickup and they were beautiful, the onion rings are a nice touch and the dip is very tasty.

The enchilda itself was pretty average, covered in unpleasant tasty cheese and the pork didnt have any flavour. If it werent for the refried beans on the side, I wouldnt even know this is a mexican dish.

I am really disappointed, I took a considerable detour to try this place (travelling from Orange to Mudgee) and I have been hearing rave reviews about this place for years. I am not sure if I got a bad night or change of ownership

3 stars only for the...

What a piece of magic to find in the middle of Rylstone! Sensational US-angled Mexican deliciousness that kept the whole family entertained and well fed, with our eldest continuing to speak about the experience days afterwards. Holly and Grant do a superb job of building on the great food with a warming atmosphere that fits picture-perfectly into the whole country town vibe, I can't help thinking this is a piece of culinary sorcery that Mudgee knows that it's missing!

For me, the simplest and most potent salsa verde anchored every flavour in its place, and as vegans, there were so many opportunities on offer. We tried the filling burritos with beans and the fantabulous fajitas on a sizzling plate. Perfection.

And don't get us started on those margaritas! Best in the world and they're working on new flavours as we speak. Get in there and find your inner (or...

My wife and i recently visited Pepinos for the first time. The restaurant has an authentic feel with a nice warm fitout. It's positioned on the main corner opposite the pub. We both started the night off with a 10/10 recommend to a friend traditional margherita. yum. The dance music background music was an interesting mix to the vibe but this quickly changed to a sarah blasko style mix. Interesting again but better. The steak fajitas are a hit. Very popular. Nice cut cooked to your liking, delivered sizzling to the table. Good arrangement of side dishes and warm tortillas to complete the dish. smooth guac. The fish tacos were light and fresh. barra or something like that. not too much sauce so the flavour was good. We both enjoyed this place and...

After finding Pepino's online, we drove over two hours from the Blue Mountains to give it a go, and we weren't disappointed. This is one of the closest renditions to Mexican comfort food you'll find in the family run restaurants and roadside cantinas in the border states of the USA, right smack-bang in the middle of nowhere in country NSW. Queso was great, taquiotos were proper, salsas were fresh, chips were crispy, beer and soft drinks were cold. Price was very reasonable. We will be back next time we are in Rylstone.
