Asser House Cafe — Restaurant in Scone

Coffee is a no go! Overpriced, over extracted, bland, boring tasteless coffee. $5+ for a medium flat white that was average at best. Long black was over extracted, watery garbage. If you're going to sell overpriced coffee at least make it worthwhile.

Response to owner: Not at all, we were looking forward to a strong coffee on a long trip. Asser House Coffee looked like a lovely place to stop. Even though the price of a medium flat white was a little more expensive (usually around $4.00 - $4.50) we were willing to pay for a good coffee. We are familiar with the coffee that you use. The coffee was hot, however, we were disappointed to find that the flat white was milky. The staff at the time were young and appeared inexperienced and distracted. My husband and I waited 90 minutes for scrambled eggs and toast and bacon and eggs rolls. When approached the counter we were told ours would be a few minutes and came out about 15 minutes later...they had obviously forgotten the order, which would have been fine had they admitted it. There was no sign of remorse or apology for our excessive wait. They was no offer of anything to make up for the inconvenience of waiting for an incredibly long amount of time for such a simple order. A family of five turn up at Asser Café. The same family of five was prepared to spend up to $140 for a full breakfast experience. But the family in question was turned away because the owner/manager informed us “I have no space for you.” Two small tables were available but no effort was made to suggest to join the tables together due to lack of space.
