After going to this cafe multiple times a week since I moved to the area 6 months ago I had a terrible experience with what I assume is the owner. We brought our small dogs and sat outside, one of the regulars who obviously knew the owner was having issues with their dog, who was barking at our dogs. We understood as we are animal people and it didn’t bother us, the dogs owner apologised to us and we told her we weren’t bothered and moved our dogs so they couldn’t see each other. The cafe owner then arrived with her dog off leash, our dogs were curious but not aggressive but she said she would go in the other doors. After speaking to the other dogs owner, the cafe owner came to our table and told us we would be asked to leave if we didn’t get our dogs under control. Our dogs were literally sitting under our feet, we were keeping them occupied and they were not bothering anyone. We were pretty obviously getting ready to leave too, it was like she needed to get her comment in before we left. After this experience I won’t be returning, which is a shame because every other staff member I’ve interacted with in this place has been so friendly and welcoming. Food is ok, coffee is ok, being surrounded by plants and friendly people was why I kept returning. It seems this is a venue that caters to the comfort of select people as opposed to being a place everyone can feel comfortable. So if you have dogs but don’t know the owner personally, I’d go...
