Sorry, but disappointing but honest review here. Went over during Covid, thought a good idea to support small local business. As for the general store factor, pretty good range & at reasonable prices however takeaway food was a big thumbs down! My mrs ordered a chicken & avo baguette and got some sloppy premade still in the glad wrap roll from Drakes. The white crunchy part if an iceberg lettuce was the main ingredient and it was spot the avo too. Made with zero love, cheesey but true.. I had what I thought was going to be a $12 cone full of chips with a 30cm+ piece of butterfish sticking out the top. Was I wrong!... my cone was barely a third full of chips and the 20cm butterfish was somewhere amongst that! We were on our way to Wool Bay and in a hurry otherwise I would've politely said what the? Avoid until they get their act together, hopefully for others' sake this was a one off experience but I doubt it if the baguette was wrapped and served like this. Stansbury as a town is lovely and deserves better to be honest but when there is no other competition I guess they can away it with little else to...
Read moreFamily of 6 adults and 4 children and it was the worst service we experienced coupled with lacklustre food.
We asked to be moved to a vacated table further down the back of the cafe so our large group wouldn't impede the entrance (we had toddlers) . The waitress exclaimed loudly and angrily "fine. ill just clean TWO TABLES." and stormed past our children muttering rudely under her breath. She then condescendingly said to “move“ pointing aggressively at me. At that stage I said it was fine as I could see my suggestion to move was upsetting her. she got angry and we could hear her loudly complain to the staff. The cafe was not busy, she was very aggressive and made us all feel uncomfortable. We rushed our meal and left.
The breakfasts left much to be desired, an extra $1.30 extra if you wanted your coffee takeaway and parts of orders were forgotten. Honestly, could have all been forgotten if not for the absolutely...
Read moreMy husband and i traveling around the peninsula and stopped in for the day. Despite the café being quite busy, a lovely young lady served us, and she was absolutely wonderful warm, attentive, and clearly skilled at her craft. She made sure our coffees were perfect, and they truly were. I’ve been here before, and to be honest, the coffee has often been disappointing thin, watery, and with a bubbly foam on top rather than a smooth, silky crema. But today was a completely different experience. I overheard a family complimenting her coffee, so I decided to try one myself, and I must say, it was one of the best I’ve had on the peninsula it was rich, smooth, and beautifully balanced. Even my partner agreed! Far superior to what I’ve had at the butcher’s over the road. I can’t quite remember her name unfortunately Monique or Monica, perhaps but if you visit, be sure to ask for her to make your coffee. You won’t be...
