service and atmosphere were nice, a nice cozy cafe on the main street. Unfortunately, the food was kind of lacking. We went in for breakfast and got the open English muffin, the corn and bacon waffle, and the breakfast burrito. All dishes were not BAD but were seriously lacking in flavour. Seasoning seemed pretty nonexistent as it tasted like just ingredients. Pretty disappointing considering we spent nearly $100. UPDATE: went back again to try the lunch menu, and see if it was redeeming. Unfortunately, again, it was the same if not worse than the breakfast menu. We got iced chais, the sweet potato fries, falafel wrap, and pork bao buns (all pictured). Starting off the sweet potato fries were actually pretty great, nice and crispy, and the sauce paired well. Iced chais were nice, they had icecream in them which was a nice little treat. Falafel wrap was dry. The falafel itself was pretty flavourless and grainy. Chips were crispy and went well with the sauce we got with the sweet potato ones. Bao buns were just sad. Small pieces of tough pork, in a stale and hard bun, drowned in supermarket BBQ sauce. the plate was mostly chips, with a small amount of salad. It felt very much like a pub meal, I was pretty shocked to see only two small buns and the plate instead filled with chips and salad. Overall not coming back here, both times the food left me dissapointed and unsatisfied. Staff is nice, atmosphere is decent, food...
Β Β Β Read moreStopped here for lunch today with my partner and dog. We ordered a pizza, parma & a beer. The lady took forever to take my order, and seemed extremely uninterested. After a few go's at trying to get the order right, it was done and she asked where were were sitting which was outside. A few minuets later they bought my beer out to the table, only for them to come out and say I had to drink my beer inside. I explained that I wish they told me this before I ordered my beer, because we had our dog with us and couldn't go inside. What seemed to be the owner then popped out and said it wasn't her fault, because she didn't know where we were sitting. The thing is, she did. Because she took my order and bought the beer out. Anyway, I went inside and had my beer before joining my partner and dog back outside for our meals. The meals were both quite nice actually, so I think the do good food. The owner also bought some water outside for the dog which was nice of him. But I won't go back next time, the service just rubbed me up...
Β Β Β Read moreπππππ 5 Stars to @lilliesandlattesstawell I had been craving a BLT for a few days on our road trip as the last one I had ordered was such a let down as the bread was really dry (which happens when it's toasted and I understand) but when I asked for extra butter on the Turkish bread they delivered! The chef even popped over to make sure when delivering it to the table that my order was okay. Those that have had gastric surgery and know of the restrictions and discomforts we can face, and may know of the emotional side a disappointing mouthful can result in (aka a food tantrum insert an emotional 2 year old) this was the best BLT I have had in a long time and you can't really tell from the picture but I took a cut out of the inside of the Turkish bread and savoured that mouthful. So thank you to the staff at Lillies & Lattes for making this meal...
