You definitely want to book a table- donāt walk in and expect to get food within the hour! Delicious coffee, and food. I had the eggs Benedict, and my husband had the smoky bbq breakfast burger. I thought mine had the perfect amount of hollandaise sauce, others have said not enough on there, but you can always add more, itās tricky to take off though if you donāt like heaps (like me). Unfortunately, it took about an hour and 20 to get our food. Was it worth the wait? Hmmm, boarder line. especially with 2 young kids and no one advised us of such a long wait. When I went up to ask about when we would get our breakfast (after seeing a table who ordered well after us get their food first), I was met with a half-glance and a āitās getting madeā, which I questioned and mentioned that a table ordered well after us and got served before us, I was told āoh, they booked a tableā. Then, I assume the owner, arrived and informed me that if you book a table you get priority on you food in the kitchen and asked if I would appreciate it if I had booked a table somewhere then 100 people walked in and I had to wait an hour for my food. I responded and said probably wouldnāt notice if I was getting served before others, I only notice if I get served after š I thought booking a table was to ensure you would actually get a seat, and therefore food, but perhaps the locals know that you need to book to get served in under an hour, and perhaps thatās who this business caters to more-so. When our food finally arrived, I was given a half-hearted, zero eye contact āsorry about the waitā as the waitress walked away. Would I go back? Yes, but I would absolutely book first. We actually could have driven home in the time it took us to order and receive our food. Service was ok, wait time was bloody long, food and drinks...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIf I was scoring on entrees alone this would be 5 stars, on mains alone 1 star. My 10 & 6 year old sons shared the natural prawns they were first class - 5 stars. My wife & I had mixed oysters also very nice. Our sons mains / KG whiting were great but my wifeās pork was B grade, & my Salmon was terrible. Neither were crispy skin and were it not for the fact my wife was happy to swap (& Iāll eat B grade pork), I would hav sent the Salmon back which I have never done before. Perhaps the normal chef was off, this was a Thursday night.
Iām a B grade cook but I could have cooked this Salmon better. The Soggy skin was inedible & It is not hard to make Salmon skin crispy - we paid $333 in total too... The salad, sounded amazing on the menu but it was soggy and very sad with minimal beetroot, not sure what the sauce was meant to be accompanying it, the waitress was not sure either, it was also bad. I would hav been disappointed receiving this dish from a servo on the Nullabor.
BUT the service was great, the desert was good and my son and wife ordered Prawns for their desert thats how good they were (a first!). So definitely dine here, just either donāt order a main or donāt have the...
Ā Ā Ā Read more1 star for their beachfront location. we sat on the balcony seated against the outdoor ledge. the ledge was dirty with bird droppings uncleaned. we ordered the drift omelette. one would think if a cafe named a dish after itself, it would be good, but was possibly one of the worst omelettes with all the filling ingredients (tomato, shallots) undercooked and unincorporated in an overcooked folded omelette. we also wanted add ons, of which the wilted spinach was so rushed that it tasted burnt. this dish was the result of waiting almost an hour(?) and the cafe having already got the order wrong the first time. customer service was decent, but honestly it was difficult to appreciate anything after waiting almost an hour for an unsatisfactory...
