Normally a big fan of Grill’d not on this occasion however.
The place was not particularly busy, but was I was informed by a staff member that for dine in, we ‘must order at the table.’
I’ve dined in before and ordered at the counter, so not sure what the fuss was about?
Kid ordered a kids meal, vegetarian burger and chips, I ordered the Greek lamb burger, with sweet potato chips plus some side sauces.
Kid's burger comes out full sized, mine comes out kid sized, larger than a slider, but not by much.
I've had the same burger elsewhere full sized so Im guessing that this was some kind of anomaly?
My burger was also dripping with water - not sure from what? Defrosted burger maybe? So the bottom bun was dripping wet and broke up in my hand, as well as leaking all over my plate.
There were no napkins on my table and no waiters in sight, I would have told a staff member about my experience had anyone bothered to ask, but nobody did, and no one 'checked in' with the table.
Of all the outside tables only one had napkins on them, so I grabbed some from there.
Chips and sauces were good, and the flavours in my burger were also good, but hampered by half sized and soggy bun.
Asked inside for water but it never arrived, so asked again.
The staff to customer ratio was quite high so no excuses for poor service.
When I owned cafes I always insisted staff check in with tables within 4 minutes of the food going out, to make sure that everything was ok, and to offer additional drinks, up-sales etc.
I know this is a different business model but the opportunity for a touch point with the customer and an additional sale still remains.
Not a bad experience but not great either - Noosa store always seems to deliver, and there’s an opportunity here...
Read moreVery disappointed with the service at grilled sunshine plaza Maroochydore.
I have a severely autistic son who can only eat certain foods. I bought his dinner with me (a regular scenario for our situation) to grilled Maroochydore at sunshine plaza to be told at the door that I was not aloud to have his food at the restaurant when I explained I want to order and eat here myself and get take away for additional family, however my son has a disability and he can only eat certain foods because of his disability, I was told sorry he can not eat that here he can hold it and you can order or eat food ordered from here but your child can not eat that food here he will have to wait and eat it else where.
No understanding or compassion for people with disabilities. Then I questioned the manager about there policy and asked so what if it was someone who was peg fed coming here with friends or family are you going to send them away as well because their food is not from here, to be told I’m sorry I understand but it is our store policy..
I’m disgusted that in this day and age we are still discriminating against people with disabilities instead of finding solutions to have them included in dinning settings. Grilled sunshine plaza you need to reevaluate your “polices” to be more inclusive to our disabled community. This is just wrong., It’s 2022 be better and do better grilled...

Tonight I went to get some dinner from the Maroochydore Grill'd. I was served by a young woman. She had a sour expression on her face when she introduced herself to me and seemed allergic to giving a friendly smile. She invited me to find a seat and sit, and then promptly resat someone else at the same table when I left to go inside and order. I had to explain the mixup to the people who had been sat at my table and when she came back out and saw that I was sitting at the table again, she didn't seem the slightest bit concerned or apologetic, didn't offer a word of consolation, nor did she attempt to explain the mixup. At no point had she explained that how orders worked and as I usually get takeaway this would've been helpful. She then refused to look me in the eye when she brought my dinner, and made a half-hearted quip about enjoying my meal as I left.
I understand this was probably a one off and it won't stop me from ordering there again, but if she is on I will be requesting a different waitress. One who can explain the seating arrangements, take my order and deliver my dinner to me with some civility and without seeming like the only reason she's there is for the paycheck....
