Sukhothai Maleny — Restaurant in Sunshine Coast Regional

Thank you to the wonderful staff here, who managed to fit our group in with a last minute booking on a busy Saturday night. We were more than happy to wait as this venue was recommended by a friend.

The venue has plenty of Thai decor as well as some local artists paintings to showcase some of the beautiful scenery. Not to mention, you can see into the kitchen, where the kitchen staff is hard at work preparing some amazing dishes.

Our food tasted fantastic, with portions sizes just enough to take a little home as we were all so full.

The coconut rice I must say was probably one of the most flavoursome I've had in all the Thai restaurants I've previously reviewed.

We also tried the sizzling Chilli Ginger Duck which was nice cooked and plenty of balanced flavours.

We also tried the Pad Garee King Prawns which was also very nice, but my favourite for the night was the Thai Crispy Fish. The fish was cooked perfectly, soaking up the delicious sauce with the added thin crispy batter accompanied by some salad leaves and veggies.

If you love Thai cuisine and visiting the Malany region, definitely make some time to eat...

Hands down, the best Thai food I've ever had. I've been to Thailand, eaten Thai food around Australia, and I still rate this as the best. I've been meaning to write a review for a year.... coming here every single week for over a year! Every single time has been consistently amazing. I've tried so many things on the menu and everything has been incredible. My partner and my go-to's are the ginger chilli duck, crispy fish, fresh chilli stir fry, pad Thai, spicy fried rice and panang curry. When food arrives, our conversation comes to an end, and all we can mutter between mouthfuls is "so good" and "spectacular." The portion sizes are incredible and the amount of beautiful crisp yet tender veg (never over cooked) and sensational sauces with tender protein (of every variety) defeats literally ANY restaurant I've ever been to. I advise getting meals as "medium". I'm a chilli lover, but unless you eat a lot of rice, hot is too much for me. Getting the crispy fish as 'hot' is fabulous though, as the dipping sauce can handle the extra chilli. Anywho, massive gushing rant of love done. Thanks Kay,...

Beautiful food and service! I see why the place almost has a 5-star rating ✔️ When I walked in I was greeted immediately by a friendly staff member who showed me to my table. Due to being quite booked they were very accomodating to find me a table as a walk-in diner. Another staff member took my food order. The entree came out after 5 minutes from ordering and the main about 10 minutes, which I was very impressed with given their endless stream of takeaway orders and seating guests. Despite the busyness, they made sure to send a smile my way and check in whether I was enjoying my meal! The portion size was incredibly generous and I was able to take-away my leftovers to savour for later! The curry puffs were delicious and the basil stir fry was so flavourful, exactly the spice level I ordered and was a hot temperature.
