Ace Shawarma Bar, Canley Heights Shawarma is the next big thing in Sydney I reckon. I'd love to see more and more shawarma pop up, because there's something about the thin flatbread (called saj) that some of these places use That wraps so well with lamb or chicken meat and garlic sauce. Beautiful. Sydney will one day become shawarma heaven, but until that day places like Ace Shawarma in Canley Heights are holdin' it down. I first visited on a rec from my male who said "this shawarma slaps". Yeah, love. The lamb meat here is quite different to any shawarma or kebab joint I've tried before. It's juicy, zingy, garlicky, with crispy edges. Rob, the owner of the shop, marinates and skewers it all himself and a quick conversation with him tells me he's super proud of his work. He works here until the early morning (2am) every day with his wife and sons. He's also heckin proud of his pomegranate juice. His biggest smile of the night is when he's squashing pomegranates. "I make the best and the freshest", he bellows all night to people walking past, "Shawarma! Shi sha! Fresh juice!". I've been back a few times now. Sometimes for the shawarma only, after work. Sometimes to sit down with a plate of shawarma and chips (ask for the chilli garlic sauce). Once for the knafeh. One Lime even to by his marinated skewers that cooked with lamb fat dripping over. Get this though... it's that yellow rice that will blow you away. His wife makes it. I asked them what it was called and they said "it's just smokey rice". Despite the charcoal- less cooking, the rice brings a wonderful smokey and buttery flavour. I wonder if they do this rice with the lamb shawarma meat on top? On my last visit, Rob said he was thinking about stopping the shawarma to concentrate on his hidden shi sha bar at the back. told him no wayyy. His shawarma is way too good to stop. Expect to spend: $15+5

Wasn’t too sure what to expect from a shawarma place in the middle of canly vale , but straight away was pleasantly surprised with a warm welcome from the owner , asking where we wanted To sit then proceeding to turn on some fans for us putting on some music as it was still Early in the evening My friend and I both got the Arabic platters which came to $32 each I got mixed lamb and chicken We where happy to see beer on the menu and the owner suggested his twice on a corona with a cold glass and a rim of salt with a lime twist (went down too well ) The food was great the wraps full of flavor and juicy, good amount too , chips yummy good seasoning and the salad had the right amount of acidity to cut though the richness After it’s all said and done , I’m going back to try the rest of the menu One of the friendliest owners iv met by far

I went there after seeing a reel on instagram. The food was good but needs to be improved more according to me. Now I am going to share my opinion. We were there for a Friends weekly hangout, and booked earlier. Since it was a working day, some friends were late and some were hungry. When we tried to order some first and late comers could order later. He came asking trying to change our order, suggesting us what to order every time we tried ordering something. And ultimately we had to order together. I dont think the knafeh was fresh. So, my opinion is, is you are suggesting other menu items saying, "Listen it won't be good! Try this" why do you have something else in the menu which you don't want your customers to try. I hope the service gets better.

I recently visited Ace Shawarma, and it was an unforgettable experience! From the moment I stepped in, the inviting aroma of spices and grilled meats enveloped me. The decor is warm and welcoming, making it the perfect spot for a quick bite or a relaxed meal.

Now, let’s talk about the star of the show: the mix plates, arabic plates and shawarma! I ordered the mix plate for 4, arabic plate and 3 shawarma combos and it was hands down the best I’ve ever had. The meat was perfectly marinated and grilled to perfection, juicy and bursting with flavor. The fresh veggies added a delightful crunch, and the garlic sauce? Simply divine! Every bite was a little piece of heaven.

The fresh juice and knafeh were some of the best desserts I have ever tried, the flavors simply melted in my mouth. A must try!!!

What truly sets Ace Shawarma apart, though, is the incredible boss, Robert. His passion for food and hospitality shines through in every detail. He took the time to greet customers personally and ensured everyone felt at home. You can really tell he cares about quality and making each visit special. He even shared some tips on how to enjoy the shawarma with different sauces, which I really appreciated!

If you’re in the area, do yourself a favor and stop by Ace Shawarma. You won’t regret it, and I promise you’ll leave with a satisfied smile and a newfound love for shawarma. Can’t...

First and foremost, I was here today, November 2, 2025. I went to this restaurant at 10:30 PM. I needed a sandwich. The manager, Robert, looked at me but didn't tell me what I needed. He was disgusting, off-putting, and disrespectful to customers. I waited until 11:10 PM, half an hour, and still hadn't received my order. He only had three customers and two employees. Secondly, two new customers arrived before me and took their orders while I was standing there. I didn't get what I needed, and I was the first one there. After that, I left the restaurant and went home without dinner. Thirdly, I've had a sandwich from this restaurant before; it wasn't delicious, but there were some mistakes. This isn't the first time this has happened to me. I always tell the manager, Robert, and the restaurant staff what I need when I order a sandwich, but I never see any results. I told them I needed something extra, like hot sauce, but I didn't see any. I told them I needed hot sauce, and when I ate it, there was no hot sauce. Second, I asked for white mayonnaise, but I got orange mayonnaise instead. I told them I needed chili sauce, but they didn't have that either. Third, the saj bread for the sandwich was soaked with oil. When I ate it, the oil dripped out, and the bread cracked from the excess oil. That's why I won't be going back to this restaurant; the service is...
