After a few years away, dropped in to this old family style pizza place recently on a hot Thursday evening about 8:00 pm. Apart from a few take-away riders near the doorway, there was no-one at a table. I should have taken notice. But in I went, sat at a middle table and ordered a glass of wine and a pizza. I then noticed that half the tables at the back part of the resturant had all their chairs up. My glass of wine arrived, and then the pizza. All good! I requested some extra chilli - which arrived, sort of. The flakes were in a bottle designed for oil, so I undid the lid and poured flakes into my hand for a sprinkle. Ok, done that before with blocked salt shakers. But then: the waitress quickly went to work noisely putting up all the chairs on the near and surrounding tables, presumably in preparation for a super-quick get-away by the distracted, careless staff. Good for them - but I was only one quarter way through my pizza (which was ok) and was feelling decididly unwellcomed and hurried-up! And not surprising, I guess, since I was the only person at a table in the entire place. In a nutshell: it is really disappointing to see what used to be a warm and inviting family resturant fall apart so badly: no evidence of any management in sight, and a few couldn't-care-less students wandering around 'looking after things', super eager to get home before closing time. Get a take-away by all means. But if you are looking for a dinning experience where you might feel welcome and able to relax for 30 minutes, don't waste your time and money at Arthur's Pizza Paddington. There are heaps of other places offering that just up the...
Read moreA friend of mine recommended to go to give Arthur's Pizza a visit. We went as a group of 4 for dinner. We were welcomed and served by a lovely waiter who took our orders and enjoyed our pizzas and vino. One of our friends is a veteran opera singer who decided to share 10 seconds of his beautiful voice with the restaurant. A table next to us, a lovely couple commended his singing and was truly appreciative of his talents. Only to be followed by the most rude comment by the floor manager ; Michael who came to our table and told us off that there should not be singing in this restaurant. The gesture and treatment we received that night was extremely appalling which caused each of us in grief and we decided to cancel our additional pasta order and got our bill. Michael was still very rude when my friend paid the bill. There was no apology or recognition that what he said and done to us was in any way wrong. It it fair to say that we will not be recommending this place to our friends and colleagues. Surely Michael needs to learn more of English and customer service and also...

The owner is a very rude and angry little old man. I ordered my pizza (which was very over priced) and he stuffed up my order sending it out on delivery while i sat there waiting for over an hour for it. He didn't apologise and when the pizza came back he gave me the cold pizza which had been mistakenly sent out on delivery half an hour earlier. When i tried to explain i didnt want a cold pizza he screamed and shouted at me telling me that "cold pizza is better anyway" and threw my money back at me and told me never to come there again. I didn't think that asking for my pizza to be hot was asking a lot. I will NEVER go there again. Worst service ever and food to match.
AVOID AT ALL COSTS UNLESS YOU WANT TO BE ABUSED!!!!!
Domino's is way better and cheaper anyway! Also his staff did apologise on his behalf and said that they hated him and would quit and work anywhere else if they...
