Absolutely shocking experience. Long wait times, order missed, rude staff. 50 minutes later, we walked out without even a coffee - go to the Walrus who were exceptional if you are in this area!! Read below. — From a hospitality background I completely understand a mishap here and there, with busy periods and missed orders - however the way this cafe approached the situation was horrific!
We sat out the back and ordered (2 coffees, 2 egg and bacon rolls) via the QR code, shortly after ordering a waitress approached and brought us menus and water ready to take our order. We advised we had placed the order via the QR code.
After 25 minutes we still didn’t have a coffee in front of us, we asked the waiter and she went to check advising they wouldn’t be long and they were going through a very busy period. No issues. After another 5 minutes she came back out to advise she had said the order didn’t go through. She took our order and we sat to wait again.
We went inside to get a cookie which cost us another $6 while we waited as we cold and hungry plus sick of waiting by this point.
After another 15 minutes we still had not received even a coffee and went inside to question again. Three times the girl said to me “let me check” walking straight past the coffee machine to continue running other guest orders. I finally got to management who said the order was coming (it had been placed at the back of the line, not yet started and our food had been missed AGAIN). She also stated several times the QR codes didn’t work - so why have it on offer and not have your staff flag this with us when we told her we ordered with this method? The manager was so rude, talking to us as though we were being aggressive when we were simply asking a question and not getting answer, therefore needing to repeat ourselves.
We waited another 5 minutes while we lingered to ask for a refund - we got every excuse under the sun as to why our order had still not been STARTED.. 50 minutes later!! Dishwasher not working, short staff, QR code not working - all in which we would have happily accepted if our concerns were addressed at first half an hour earlier.
We walked to the walrus after receiving our $51 refund, where we were met with smiling faces, a clean warm table, immediate service and all of our order in our hands within 15 minutes of arriving all for $36. Highly recommended!
To the manager, this is a simple misunderstanding that could have had completely different out come had your staff been trained to action guest concerns. I think this needs an extreme training and review internally. Not...
Read moreVery disappointed! My wife and I were early for an appointment (6th Nov 2019) so decided to get a bite to eat, the pricing was a little on the higher side but for the area I expect it to be fairly on par. We shared a dish, (the staff were pleasant and accommodating, which was the only redeeming factor and the reason I rated 2 stars and not the lowest possible which is 1) the mushroom, spinach and egg was really nice, the block of the hash brown was way too hard on the outside, then after checking today I noticed there was an additional 41 cents added to the 22 dollar charge? I noticed another reviewer also complained about this additional charge they were not advised of also and the donation tap (I noticed it on the way in and thought it would be easy to accidentally tap it), the counter is so busy with items and signage it does tend to blend in, although I never saw anything about a credit card surcharge. I saw a reply to a review where they train their staff, well, how about having them recognise non-regular customers and advise of the surcharge if paying by card? If I was told I would have paid cash. I know 41 cents is not a huge amount but in a good business model you would factor that in just as you would factor in wages, rent, COGS, etc. Everywhere else I have been, if they are charging more they will tell the customer regardless if...
Read moreI’ve always liked the food in this place, but there’s certain aspects of the service that have forced me to decide that I won’t be going back to Bellagio. Some of the waitresses are unfriendly, but nothing is more annoying than the harassment they give customers to move out when they want to start cleaning 30 minutes before closing time. It’s rude, disrespectful and not an environment I want to sit in just because I’m having my meal or coffee towards the end of their trading. Either do a small bit of overtime or clean around customers so they can continue sitting until they’re ready to leave. And to the sick waitress who kept coughing and spluttering without covering her mouth, just remember Covid is still around at the moment Won’t...
