We had high expectations due to all the buzz surrounding this place. A strange place to open, locally near us, and in an industrial area. Obviously a smart finance decision on their side. Not that we're complaining because it's convenient with plenty of street parking.

The place is tiny and has a no frills sort of feel, but it was pleasant, there's two or three very casual seating area outside. They did well with the space they had.

The first time we visited, we got two pastries: the Ginger Brule tart and the rhubarb danish (I think). The Ginger tart was scrumptious, but the rhubarb was a fail because the texture, too dense and rubbery.

We visited again recently a few weeks ago for lunch. This time I got the beef sandwich and a coffee. The coffee was fabulous, almost perfect and I would probably visit in future just for their coffee. However, the sandwich wasn't as tasty as promised by the writing on the board. Too much tartness from the pickles which overwhelmed the entire sandwich.

The staff was polite and efficient. Even though I found this place 'a hit and miss', I would go again for their coffee and I'm willing to try more of their bakery goods. That's why we gave this place 4 stars...

Wow, this bakery does so much right. If I could give it more than 5 stars, I would. In my humble opinion, it is a 5 star standard that other bakeries in the Shire should benchmark themselves against.

The pies are fresh, with ingredients that taste "home made", the eggplant sausage rolls taste like traditional sausage rolls but possibly even better. Love that they offer multiple vege-based options.

The sweet pasteries I've tried have all been good: pastry on tarts is crunchy, pastry for danishes is only mild sweet and not overpowering, and there is not an overload of custart under the fruit... tastes perfect really with the right balance of savoury and sweet.

I only wish more businesses which have multiple stores could keep the high standards that Bourke Street Bakery does.

Only fault could be that the prices are higher than other sole trader bakeries, but you get what you pay for with...

If this bakery appears like any other... you would be wrong. Nothing like the vibrant social fast paced... but graceful way that the cafe staff run this sweet spot in our kirrawee heart. Parking limited but thanks to the great organisation of staff and quality goods you’ll be in and out. Coffee is delicious , almond available if you’re nutty 🥰and they try to be environmentally conscious offering keep cups and fantastic biodegradable takeaway cups. Come for sweet or savoury. Full lunch menu. Absolutely great slices tarts and cakes. Gluten free options are here too! This is my husbands photo of our choices. Gluten free Belgium choc flourless cake✅ and a good old Aussie sausage roll! The best flavours. They also sell cold drinks and breads in sourdough scrumptious varieties... they should offer me my next coffee free! Love it bakery Burke street( not actually on a Burke street. Named after...

Very pleasant Ginger creme brulee tart - soft decadent custard inside, crunchy on the outside. Unique combination of flavour 9/10 Quiche - simple classic taste, nice crust 8/10 Pie - tried the potato pie but prefer the classic beef. Nice pastry. Meat is not chunky beef but is okay. I have had better pies elsewhere but still good. Around $7-8. 8/10 The iced coffee was not bad. Tastes freshly bottled. Strong coffee flavour All this cost us around $35 approx
