I am appalled by the service your manager Emily has shown today here at the prince hotel! I came with my family for a family lunch as it was my brothers graduation day. Now during the day at a pub I have never come across where I get asked for ID well in fact I’m well over 18 .. now myself and my siblings were sitting outside in a quite area well away from the bar for my mum and nana to arrive and now this Emily came over and asked for id which we left at home .. we expressed this to Emily and she rudely told us to leave the premises unless we have our id the rudeness that came out of her mouth and tone being the manager of the prince is disgusting!! You should respect your customers but in her case she did not show this! Despite her rudeness me and my sister went back home and got our ids as we don’t live far thankfully. As we entered back into the prince Emily came up to us immediately and checked our ids as we sat down with our family a few other people came in and to our surprise Emily did not check their ids at all! As more people entered she never came out and checked their ids!! My mum even asked several other staff members if children are to be seated outside in these quite areas where we were sitting and this was no problem at all! Now why is id needed if we are sitting where children are aloud to sit? Now tell me if I’m in the wrong by not bringing id for a lunch meal with no intention to drink alcohol! And have a nice lunch? Ridiculous... she definitely had it out for us for some apparent reason!! I will definitely not be coming back here again and I believe Emily should not be in the position she is in as she is not role modelling correct customer service to her staff which we can see she definitely had lacked in that department!! I hope no other customers come across this sort of...
Read moreI get a bit grumpy when I need to write a review on an empty stomach. Unfortunately, I come before you now, hungry, grumpy and $28.00 poorer.
Feros group, to their credit, delivers a decent pub experience, with a nice modern twist on the Australian pub scene by making their venues pleasant places to drink, eat and make memories.
For my early dinner I ordered the pie of the day, coming in at a whopping $28 dollars. "Pie of the day" as in, you have to work for a day to purchase it.
How can they justify prices like this? If they wanted money to pay for their renovations they could ask the bank? Or pull from their TAB/pokies haul. Oftentimes I find the prices of menu items increased in areas that boast beautiful views, or central locations. The prince hotel offers dystopic views of industrial buildings, a service station and a busy main road.
I understand that, included in the cost of the menu items is the expertise of the designer of the menu, but he hasn't reinvented the shephard's pie, he's designed a menu item consisting of a servo pie on a squirt of mint jelly next to some delicious broccolini (brocoli's pretencious little brother). Keep in mind, a FOUR PACK of shephards pies made by a leading artisinal bakery is $22.00.
Other than this, beer was cold, staff were friendly, when they finally decided to stop chatting with eachother and serve customers.
Disappointed in the prince, other Feros group venues are absolute joys to eat and drink at,...
Read moreWe went to The Prince for an early dinner on Friday evening. Our group was two couples and their respective children (3 in total) and my mother. Our reserved table was filthy both in terms of being wet and stained, as well as having empty salt and pepper packages on it. When we asked staff to clean it we were made to feel like we were being difficult and unreasonable. Eventually a rude staff member came and cleaned it and made it clear to us that he thought cleaning was not part of his "job description". On the subject of staff, the bar was understaffed, there was a long wait to be served and no procedure for serving people in any order. Despite being there early and before the dinner rush, the food took a long time to arrive and was average in quality. When I went to collect the food I required a tray to carry the plates. I pulled three trays out and every one of them was dirty and covered in food from who knows how many previous meals. It was really quite disgusting. I go to The Prince quite regularly after work for a drink, and cannot complain about the service and my experiences in the "sport bar". However, I was very embarrassed having suggested to friends and my mother that we go to The Prince for dinner. It was disappointing, down market and dirty....
