- Terrible place to eat. We came in a group of 10 but it was relatively quiet. - Requested to seat outside and combine two tables they said they can’t do that and only indoor available (plenty of tables outside). - Coffee was bitter (no oat milk available), food is average at best. I had the Charcoal Beef Burger. - My auntie and friend ordered fish tacos and the fish was not fresh. My auntie is a chef and she took one bite and said the fish is off. If they kept eating they could have been sick. No consideration of food health safety. My auntie went to complain and all they said was the fish is definitely not off. They sell it all the time so she said it is fresh, which is a lie and you can smell it on the fish. Manager offered refund for the two fish tacos. - Requested for fish and chips when ordering, and they said thats only available for kids. We asked if there is a fish and chips for adults. They said no which is honestly so stupid. - We asked reasoning for rejection of fish and chips, they said fish and chips for kids under 12 and only for kids because its “bland”. Taste is subjective, this is so stupid. At least offer a fish and chips adult version. - Asked the waitress for some ketchup to go with my chips. She said you have to order at the counter? What kind of restaurant is this? Went to the counter and he said $0.50 for some ketchup. You can tell the business is failing if they charge you for ketchup. And there is a reason it is failing. - Overall terrible customer service, average at best food with no concern for food health safety, and bad ambience. - All other bad reviews do justice as this place is horrible.Highly unrecommended. - Avoid at all costs, go for a treetop climb then go to castle towers for food.

Cute little Cafe nestled in the forest. It's right next to the treetop reception and the car park and it's surrounded by a little park and some trees. It's nothing really around here other than the tree tops and the garden centre next door. The only other patrons I can think of our possibly people who are doing bush walks along the mini trails here. There's also supposed to be a visitor centre around here but it was closed when we arrived. Reasonable pricing despite in being in the middle of nowhere and having a virtual Monopoly over all the treetop visitors. You can get normal main dishes mostly between 20 and $30. There are a couple of kids options for about $15 There's a bunch of mocktail and milkshake options and you can also get the normal can drinks and some Mexican soft drinks. There's also a new fridge with Australian ice cream and ice blocks. Burgers were good. The beef burger had bacon and some relish on it. There was also a chicken burger and a fish burger. The risotto was so so, it was a bit watery and a bit too salty for our taste. The special kids fish nchips was ok, the chips were crisp and crunchy The chicken nuggets not so good, they look like normal freezer ones. The steak sandwiches were good.

We visited Café Saligna and were lucky to arrive when it was still empty, so we could choose where to sit. We picked a table in the sun and asked if one of the umbrellas could be opened for a bit of shade. The waitress told us the umbrellas were broken and couldn’t be used, which we accepted. A few minutes later, another group arrived and sat at the table we had originally wanted — and the same waitress opened the umbrella for them. When we asked about it, he didn’t respond and simply ignored us, which felt quite rude. The food was okay overall. We ordered the Saligna’s Brekky, which was nice, though the mashed avocado looked old and oxidised. When I asked to speak with the manager to provide feedback, the head chef told me (in a rather unfriendly tone) that they don’t have a manager — which was surprising for a café of this size. The service definitely needs improvement, and the outdoor area could use some attention — the chairs were uncomfortable and some furniture was rusted. We didn’t try sitting inside, so can’t comment on that area.

After spending almost $100 just for 3 dishes and 1 drink this place is most definitely overpriced. I wished I had read the Google reviews before booking a table and sitting down to eat.

There is no table service. You have to queue up and order yourself. Not something I'd expect when many of the dishes cost around/almost $30 each (for lunch).

The queue moves extremely slowly. With only 2-3 people in front of me it took me about 10 mins to put my order in.

Once I made my order I asked for some water and was told to ask a waiter and they'd bring it to our table. The man behind me was queuing up only for water. He got to jump the queue and asked someone where the water was and the waiter (who seemed new and didn't know either) asked him to just take it from the fridge and he took a bottle of packaged mineral water (which I assumed is for sale, and not just a free jug of tag water). All very strange...

Once I got back to our table I saw that no waiter had come by yet with any water and no waiter was to be seen. I found one and asked him to bring us a jug of water. A while later a different waiter comes with 3 jugs of water and glasses and randomly distributes them to any table. I had to remind him that we had requested it before he randomly gave our water to another table with people who had arrived after us.

By the time we received our water we had been sitting at the table for 20 minutes. I would have preferred it to just pick it up myself, given we already have to go to the front desk to order!

40 minutes pass since we first sat down and our food is nowhere to be seen. I look around me and there are around 5-6 tables of people (in the indoor area) and nobody has any food on the table. I query this with one of the waiters and he just tells me they are busy, it's a public holiday, there are also people to serve outside..

So I go outside assuming that everyone outside must have their meals and I see only ONE table who has food. The other 6-8 or so tables also don't have food...

I go back inside and ask them where we are in the queue and how much longer we have to wait given almost nobody in the entire restaurant has their food!! The lady is trying to be nice and helpful and apologetic (saying they are understaffed - duh) but the chef/cook (who could also possibly be a co-owner) seems angry at me and tries to show me all the tickets he's got... He tells me our food will be "at least another 15 minutes." and they keep re-iterating that it's a public holiday... and? We have this exact same public holiday every single year. It isn't as if they haven't had time to prepare for it??? Judging by other reviews they've had staffing issues for ages not just because of this one public holiday...

As we have a young child, it's really not fun waiting an hour for our food... The other patrons don't seem to mind as they are nearly all elderly. Perhaps this review is written in vain since the majority of their customers seem to be elderly people with all the time in the world and nothing else to do, nowhere to go..? and don't read Google reviews :P

In fact, I told an elderly couple as they were coming in the door that they'd be waiting up to an hour for their food and the man actually said to me, "We have all the time in the world..."

So 53 minutes after we first sat down our food finally arrives. Our burgers (beef and chicken) are good but the bun is quite dry with the outer top layer 'cracking'. The chips are awful. Overly salted with chicken salt and left me feeling thirsty as hell. They also looked to be pre-fried and were now over-fried.

Once we received our food it was a good 20-30 minutes before anyone else sitting near us received their food. I guess the restaurant is lucky they are so patient!

On the plus side, as we were leaving, the lady was telling the incoming new customers that it's at least a 30-45mins wait for food...

By the date/time of Antonio A Bassi's review (posted just before mine) I'm pretty sure we were there at around the same time. My 3 stars is...

Worst cafe and worst service I had received! Staff (floor manager) was rude and waitress rushed to clean table and tried to kicking customer out. I tried to order and pay a coffee, tea and some food in advance at counter, and I wish to have the food inside. So the floor manager asked me to eat inside with my older 60s mum and 3 years kid and pay later when I finish. The total bill was only $18, when I nearly finished food, the waitress tried to clean our table and get us to leave. So we packed and decide to leave and I opened front door for my kid and my mum to let them out and I was a bit rush to toilet (only one toilet is located outside cafe, there's no toilet inside cafe). And I totally forget the bill, and my mum and kid was waiting outside cafe. After I finished toilet the floor manager was waiting outside and asked me to pay the bill. I did sincerely apologized as I completely forgot paying $18 bill, then I followed the floor manager to counter paid the bill and tried to explain to her. However it seems the floor manager didn't accept my explanation and said "Lucky our restaurant have camera", which was so rude and indicated that I was trying to dine and dash a $18 bill !!! with my 3 years kid 60+ mum still waiting outside the cafe while I was in the toilet. I guess the floor manager probably doesn't deserve the JK payment given she was not well trained how to talk with customer, and sure this cafe doesn't need local support to their business. I can see their review is already low at 2.6, I am expecting it will go even lower if they keep poor services to customer.

Today I received a call from the restaurant owner who tried to scary me if I don't remove my comment and he will ask his lawyer to sue me ! Really? Google review offers customer right and free speech and all I input is fact. If they are not happy please don't use google review service. Also they used my mobile number that I write on the restaurant covid19 book for emergency contact only, they has no right to use my mobile number for other purpose and it's against privacy.

To Restaurant owner,

Your bill was paid in full (show on my credit card), apologise was given on the spot to your floor manager. However you should train your floor manager and staff proper way to speak with customer. (I am not only person commented on your poor services and bad attitude). Doesn't matter you have a camera or not, I wouldn't owe you 1 cent. Doesn't matter you report to police or not, I don't owe you 1 cent. By the way your services were poor and staff was rude which is a fact. Customer is free to leave their comments. If you are not happy please just ask google review and see if they can remove those comments left by so many customer who were treated poorly by your staff. Looking forward for improvement on services and under...

dear wait and kitchen staff, if you hate your life that much just quit, i’m sure karen’s diner has an opening.

don’t go here. simple as that. this is our 3rd and final abhorrent experience here. if you don’t want to read the whole review all I have to say is not going here will save you money, dignity, patience and time. staff and management are so rude you can’t even force yourself to empathize.

they refused to accomodate when we asked to join 2 tables under the shade instead of sit on the hot benches under the sun - we had a baby. keep in mind the place was empty apart from 2 other tables.

it was 11:30 and we went to order breakfast as it clearly states on the menu that breakfast doesn’t finish until 12pm. we had also been reassured that we will be able to order breakfast when we made our booking over the phone. when going to order we were told breakfast is over, i asked how it could be over if the menu states it ends at 12 and the waiter said “it just is”. we then returned to the table where another waiter was there with the rest of our family. we told them that we needed to order lunch and breakfast had ended early and the waiter butted in saying “yeah the kitchen closed breakfast since they weren’t getting orders” well the reason you aren’t getting breakfast orders is because there are literally 4 tables in the entire cafe, and we were the only ones who were yet to order. how does moving on to lunch get you more orders??? after deciding on a lunch order, i went to the counter and started the order with banana bread, to which the waiter responds “breakfast is over we told you guys”. okay fine i understand not having breakfast items but im sorry BANANA BREAD, all you do is slice it and chuck it on a plate??? i dont see how that is any different to ordering a muffin or cake. after FINALLY ordering, our food comes 20 minutes later, and we waited at least 10 more minutes to receive a muffin!!! 30 minutes for a muffin are you kidding?? nobody came to clear anything on our table which was clearly overcrowded, waiters CLEARLY didnt want...
