California Republic — Restaurant in Sydney

Such a disappointment, the QR code ‘self service’ ordering system was presumably adopted to improve efficiency. What we actually experienced was half our orders arriving and the other eventually landing 30 minutes later. Then there’s the drinks that didn’t arrive at all and yet when we asked where they were, we found ourselves being challenged as to whether we had ordered them at all.

Then there’s the food, tacos that simply fell apart on immediate handling, a dry and over cooked steak, frozen chicken nuggets & the worst of all was the Burrito bowl. This dish was so far away from what was promised on the menu it is unreal.

Given the excellent alternatives for this tex/max style cuisine that we have across the Narrabeen/Elanora area (Mexicana, Oceans, Barbuto) I suggest giving this place a very wide berth. Poor service, low quality food, disappointing experience all round.

Very sad as I was excited to see who would take up this residency after the departure of the wonderful Frenchies.

We attended on Sunday evening 31/7 between 5.30 & 6.30. The restaurant had apparently been overbooked as we were advised our table would need to move if we stayed beyond 7pm.

My reference to other restaurants is simply as a watermark. I desperately wanted this to be a fabulous experience, however was disappointed on every level including a somewhat curt waiter who challenged us on the veracity of of drinks order.

I truly hope this endeavour turns around and becomes a success based on great...

PLEASE DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY. unfortunately this place has gone down hill. The teenage manager has no customer service experience and no idea how to try and resolve an issue other than blame everyone else in his team

The place seems more about Uber now than sit down

We waited 20 minutes before we could get someone to take our order. Our mains came out before our starters when we queried this the 3 staff including the manager spent more time talking to themselves than thinking advising us when the starters would arrive should be a priority When we asked to speak to the manager he firstly blamed the staff, then told us the reason our starters hadn’t come out was because he was talking to us - despite the fact that he knew 10 minutes before our starters had been missed and had failed to action it at that point or coming over to explain

He clearly was not sure what being “manager” was when we asked to speak to the owner he went away and then called us to tell us the owner didn’t have time to talk to us.

Honestly you could not have scripted how this played out tonight.

8 months ago I said this place was amazing the food the atmosphere the service. Sadly that is no longer the case the atmosphere is not the same anymore the staff effort gone.. food expensive and quantity terrible. It might as well be a take away joint now. I should have taken a photo of my food we ordered starters that didn’t arrive. I ordered the chicken burrito bowl that was a bowl of beans with some chicken on top it was cold and bland.
