Cambridge Tavern — Restaurant in Sydney

Bar staff were rude and aggressive, he told me that my ID does not match with my face hence he can’t serve me. I even show him my bank cards to prove that it is really me however he refuse service. I feel they need to go to school and learn customer care. It a place where no one would like experience & face this. It’s appalling and been in Fairfield it is a disgrace and disappointing. I have RSA and I did not par take any alcohol however the bar man who has a day off drinking in the premises how sad to see no policy and procedure in regards of staff drinking on the day off at work. It brings the place down in a sense that it degrade the standards. I am only saying my view and I strongly feel that I can’t recommend anyone to go and have a social drink on Sunday. It was a pathetic experience and appalling to see people like this Asian bar man behind the bar my opinion is, he need to find another career than hospitality. If I was a manager i will have get him to do other work than being at the bar because of the attitude he has maybe kitchen or back of house which will suit him best. Please don’t destroy our hospitality field if you are not able to find another career soon customers will stop coming. I am rating them one star for now coz I believe there a big room of improvement.

They are at a learning curve stage and according to me i categories them on 1 star in term of food and service but it some time it is a nice place to chill with friends not always

Second time it happened again

I meet the manager on 9th February 2018 and he refuse to serve me again because the staff told him it’s me who review them However I bought drinks before but he was only trying to show that he has the powers, so that staff can see that he is working as well as backing up or the mistake they made on Sunday. Repeating a mistake is something people tend not to do hence here they were proud of their actions which surprise me. He said the same thing that my ID is not matching with myself became I look younger than the way I look which I was shocked to see this happening. He advice me to get my ID fixed coz the ID doesn’t match on how I look now however it was issued by NSW RMS and they said it doesn’t not mater I need to go back to RMS & change the Photo IMage which will cost me money not for free. The fact that is individuals ID doesn’t match to individual characters and face not the pub or individual to make a decision even though I provided the bank card match my name on it.

On top of that they even forced me out of the pub and and managers friend took advantage of physically harassed me in front of the hotel today 9th Feb 2018, beat me up, it took me two days to eat or swallow food because my jaw was beaten badly. The security guard and manager come in play because they saw this happening and been they friend they kept him in the premises.

The truth shall set me free please guys don’t even try to go there

Refrain from this place forks if you want to experience bad and attitude staff please go there if you want to experience worse service please pay them a visit but I will personally recommend you to go somewhere else not this pub...

My family and I have been here many times, that night we ordered the Chicken Fillet with Mushroom Sauce, Chicken Nuggets and Chips, and the Chicken Schnitzel. Just recently we were left feeling rushed out of there. We were almost done with our meals I asked my youngest child if she was still eating and not long after we saw a security guard walk over to clear our table, which is a first for us. We were just sitting there chatting away and having a good time, I was watching the wrestling channel and just having a laugh with my family, as we were leaving I realised the wrestling channel was turned off, the thing was we were planning on leaving soon, to be rushed out like that made us feel unwelcome there. When there's a rugby or football match on TV, there are a lot of people there yelling and making a lot of noise, how was it any different? If we were just laughing amongst ourselves? It takes away from all the experiences we had going there and plus the smoking area is not closed off very well, as a non smoker the smoke is very strong and to have my kids with me it's not very family friendly and the dining space has limited seats, on a busy night it's hard to...

We use to come here for lunch 10-15yrs ago and it was great then First time back here after moving back to the area And This Is Now Our Go To Pub What a great place Bistro, Bar Staff And even security 5 stars+ Atmosphere 5 stars, Food 5 Stars+ Terrific value for money. When we come for dinner the place was packed, We were easily expecting half hour or longer wait time, and the lady in front of us ordered alot we had our food within 10 minutes (Unlike another place in the area where I waited 45 minutes for a salad and fish and chips and we were the only one's there) This bistro staff should be proud of themselves and the food was cooked to perfection.
