EDIT MORE IMPORTANT THAN REVIEW AVOID AVOID AVOID.
Exceptional quality and value, we've been eating in and taking away for over 10yrs now and love the place, after 300+ orders over the years we've had only 2 issues which were both resolved before our orders arrived, if your're an Aussie and like Australian Chinese food this is where you want to get your meal,
HUGE EDIT: This is only a brief snap of the dramas we'd "had" recently with dais, there's just too much to write and we're hungry.
WOW this is one of the saddest reviews I've ever had to update like this:( so where to start? I'll make it brief as they just aren't worth the frustration anymore.
First of all the quality in general has dropped dramatically over the last few years, since covid their prices shot right UP and the quality DOWN, dishes that used to be tasty and full of goodies is now tasteless and full of onion and carrots with the meat almost non existent, a different cook maybe or tighter purse strings? Either way the quality is gone. What meat there is is dry and fatty at the same time? yuck 🤮 Tonight was the breaking point, after first being 50 minutes late without notice even though we ordered well in advance our order was suddenly "delivered" obviously it wasn't, menulog was slow so we tried calling dais since we HAD been customers for over 15 years, WOW that was a waste of time! The phone answerer wasn't interested so she put the manager on who cared even less, obviously we were going to get a refund but it could have been with a laugh from us both, instead she couldn't give a damn and was exceptionally rude, so instead they have now lost a customer forever, we'll NEVER order from here again and actively recommend others don't either, this WAS the best Chinese food around here, but not anymore, it's a rundown, overpriced, second rate has been.
Hanging up on me was the final blow. AVOID...
Read moreThe food is good but it feels like being in a Chinese Restaurant version of Fawlty Towers. Last Saturday night we ordered two dishes. They brought out one dish. After 10 minutes I asked when the other dish was coming. They said that most people shared their dishes. I said we didn't. The other dish came - it was Salt and Pepper Prawns. Unfortunately it had a lot of chilli. My wife doesn't eat chilli. They said that this dish comes with chilli. I said that it should say on the menu. A waiter came and took the dish away, saying that the dish was cancelled. After 10 minutes I asked the waiter when they would supply my wife with the Salt and Pepper Prawns without the chilli. He said that the dish was cancelled. I asked if they expected my wife to eat nothing. He said he would bring the Salt and Pepper Prawns without the chilli.Just before this I asked another waiter for 2 beers - she brought one beer. When we had finished we went to the front desk to pay and the waiter started to calculate the bill. I asked him to speak to the manager. He said that they don't have a manager but a boss. I asked to speak to the boss. The waiter said that the boss was very busy in the kitchen. I asked again to speak to the boss. The boss came and I explained all the above and he listened quietly and politely and said that we didn't have to pay for anything. I offered to pay for my meal, but he said that we didn't have to pay so that we would come again to his restaurant. I didn't have the heart to tell him that we wouldn't be coming back to...
Read moreI suppose we should have walked out as soon as we arrived as the restaurant was empty. Literally not 1 guest in there. (well, there was one, I'll get to that soon). The lady was nice enough. We ordered satay chicken skewers and vege San Choi bow for entree. We had 2 pieces of weird, dark lettuce, it wasn't iceberg, with a tiny bit of filling in each. The chicken was deep fried, it was 'meh'. The main was the smallest bowl of vege fried rice and SOOOOO bland. Had to add soy sauce. The garlic prawns were ok, sauce a bit salty. Nothing to write home about. We also had a lot of tea which we didn't finish. Here's why; I still had food in my mouth when we spotted. Giant cockroach on the wall next to the kitchen. I stopped eating. I sipped my tea and quickly jumped up as the giant cockroach on the wall jumped off and crawled towards our table. The woman was in the kitchen, we called out to her to reluctantly pay the bill. $81. EIGHTY. ONE DOLLARS!!!! We were too stunned to speak. When we got home we realised she had charged $2 extra. There is no email address to contact them phone which, after reading reviews on the way home, I did not want to talk to them. Rookie error not reading them first! No wonder we were the ONLY ones in the restaurant! Reminded me why I never eat out! Not...
