We booked for embers believing this would be a fine dining experience, I wouldn’t though call it fine dining for a number of reasons. 1. The tables are square and the size you’d expect in a pub, 4 adult persons barely fit around the table. 2. The place more appeals more as a family friendly restaurant, of the 10 occupied tables 8 tables had families with kids under 10. 3. The food is significantly overpriced for what is offered. The service with good and attentive. The venue is nice with great views. However I must significantly warn that the food portions are tiny especially for the price paid, I would suggest the prices are inflated 30-40% above what I would expect to pay elsewhere. The only saving grace was the desert, the s’mores. It was a good price and very delicious. When I looked up Embers, I saw a menu that was not inline with the menu we had been given. I believe there is a mismatch between the Embers finer dining area and the restaurant next to it. We won’t be back.

This was a disappointing visit compared to previous visits There were many let downs. The selection of dishes were poor, the mains had a lot of grilled meats and very few other choices. The shared starters didn’t appear to be dishes that could be shared. One simple lamb skewer on a plate for a listed price of $22.50 was lacking The gnocchi was nice and well presented We chose the Peri Peri chicken which was well cooked and spicy as expected was good value The sides of Broccolini was just ok, but the side of ember salad was 7 leafs of two different types of lettuce and a minimum of dressing should not be described as a salad. We ordered some red wine and it was served in small white wine glasses Some of the service was excellent though, but other interactions not so much. It is difficult to compare with previous visits where the experience was more fine dining with excellent service.

Service:

Not a single check-in or question of how the food was throughout the whole meal for me to even voice my frustrations of how bad the meal was, which leaves no other option than a review.

No top up of water or check if we want any more drinks.

Wrong dishes served me and partner’s without question of who's was who's.

No steak knives for steaks.

Food:

We both got the 300g Steak with dauphinoise potatoes, carrots, and jus $65

Truffled chips with parmesan $15

Side salad $15

Where to start as it was a train wreck from start to finish

Dauphinoise potatoes are a dish of potatoes cooked in cream, onion, and garlic..... these were just potatoes cooked in butter and deep fried and the size of a toe.

The carrots.... there were 3 unseasoned baby carrots, no butter, one under cooked, one over cooked, and one dying of hypothermia.

The jus was bitter, cold, and thick like molasses.

The steak was terrible quality and under seasoned.

I don't mind paying a premium for premium ingredients, but what I don't like is paying $15 for pre bought chips with a splash of truffle oil and that horrible pre flaked parmesan that's definitely not real parmesan.

Nor do I like paying $15 dollars for a pre mixed tiny salad with a hint of some overly sweet tasteless dressing, half a red onion, and some half arsed chopped unripe tomatoes.

Absolutely no love or passion put into the food, and I hope anyone thinking of eating here gets a taxi into town, gets a 3 course meal and drinks, and still pays less than what they would here.

Also, it seems they're far too gutless to reply to a single bad review or address the situation that they're...

If you guys serve my drink instead of cleaning table, that would be nice.

We had dinner because we are staying in this resort. I should read the review before i go. I will never go this place. I don't mind spend how much money if the dishes are good BUT Insane price compare to what we ate and services. Don't believe signature dish. And this is what happened, when i received my pizza, i wanted to order a beer but no one come back to take order even i keep eye contact to staff and even raise hand few times. Finally i stand up and go to bar area to order my beer(takes 5mins) After order, they just cleaning the table or doing something else and i keep staring to a lady who take my order. I felt so BAD!!! Finally my pizza is finishing and i leave the place before i get my beer. When i come up to pay, they still put beer on the bill. When i said i didn't have it and they finally notice and deduct beer price. They didn't say sorry also doesn't seem so sorry about the beer. Just said sorry about the...

Dinner was disappointing, we both had scallops for entree and they were cold in the middle, We also had duck for main and it was fantastic with a very generous portion. My dessert of Australian cheeses was just ok, although mentioned in the menu there weren't any muscatels but a few grapes, the crackers offered were stale, my wife’s chocolate slice was an insult, barely 1 cm wide and 5 cms long!!! The flavour was at best “ok”. The service was very average and we struggled to understand what the waiting staff were saying. I would not recommend this restaurant. This resort is in desperate need of upgrading, the carpet in our room was disgusting with stains all over the room, the walls are dirty and and have marks all over them. We don't know if this resort offers the below standard rooms to Red Balloon clients due to the fact that they have to pay a commission or just don't care of the quality provided and work on quantity rather than quality basis, we certainly wouldn't recommend it based on...
