The food was incredible. We were staying at the Fairmont resort across the road and walked over for dinner since we couldn't get food the first night as the restraunts were booked out and they had no room service. The food was so good we went back the next day for lunch and a couple of cocktails. The cocktail special was really nice. We tried a couple of the specials for dinner and some appetisers for lunch, and every dish was delicious. The staff was absolutely amazing. There was a large group or several families that had arrived shortly before us, so we had a pretty long wait for food, but that wasn't the staffs fault. The large group of adults and small children were awful, and we felt so bad for the staff and other patrons. Several tables moved into the bar area or left to get away from this large group. They let their children run around the club like it was a jungle gym, not a golf club. One of the adults got rude with the bartender when she asked them to get their children to quit running around. The staff did their best to accommodate the customers and were so apologetic. I have never seen children acting this way in a restraunt, and the adults never once tried to get the kids to quiet down or sit down. They were rolling around on the floor, yelling and running circles around the place. The rudest group of people I have ever witnessed the staff did their best under the circumstances, and they handled the situation they...
Read moreAt Leura Golf Club, I found more than just a place to play golf; I discovered a sanctuary of absolute compassion, thanks to Joshua (who ironically shares the same name as me) in the Pro Shop. As someone who turns to golf for my own mental health support, Joshua's intuitive empathy made all the difference. He sensed my unease on the day and reached out with genuine care, going beyond his role to connect with me on a personal level.
Joshua's kindness transcended mere customer service; it was a lifeline when I needed it most. He didn't just set me up for a round of golf; he took the time to listen and understand. His gesture of coming out from behind the counter to offer a hug spoke volumes about his character and the inclusive spirit of Leura Golf Club.
Thanks to Joshua's warmth and compassion, Leura Golf Club has become more than just a golf course to me—it's a haven where genuine human connections thrive. I'll forever cherish Joshua's kindness and the profound impact it had on my experience. In my book, Leura Golf Club stands out as the best, all...
Read moreWe attended the Leura Golf Club Bistro on 16th Aug 2025. It is advertised by the Fairmont as being the family friendly option. We were a group of 11 which consisted of 6 adults, 14 month old, 19 month old, 2.5 year old, 4 yr old and 6 yr old. This night was the first night of their new menu. We were extremely disappointed. Our booking was right on opening time, 5.30pm but our food still took an hour to come out. We ordered two medium rare steaks - one came out the other side of medium and the other came out rare (but wasn’t bloody, so it is clearly a frozen steak). I also ordered the pesto pasta- which is the same price as the steak when you add chicken for some reason. Average at best. The menu doesn’t even have garlic bread. The food overall was disappointing. I also wouldn’t consider this bistro kid friendly - they had colouring in available but no play grounds and the staff were irritated with kids running around. I would recommend travelling the 10 minutes into Katoomba to the RSL- quick food and a small arcade...
