This is Japan! I'd give it 7 stars if possible. The simple sounding menu is outstanding. Izakaya fare just like in Tokyo or Osaka. Sabo, the chef, cooks from the heart. His sauces are light and delicious. Staff members are cheerful, friendly, attentive. Despite he space being small, the team runs a smooth show. I have eaten there, constantly, since the restaurant took over its previous owners a few years ago, and keep being delighted. Nasu dengaku (grilled miso eggplant), wagyu sukiyaki in a delicious broth, salmon foil yaki, spinach goma ae, salads with brilliant house dressings, beef tataki, udon and soba. I could go on forever. Enya is very casual, homey, inviting, and...

This was far and away the best restaurant experience we had in Sydney. Staff were welcoming and happy and the food was exquisite (including the complimentary sushi "welcome to Sydney' dish). I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone wanting a warm and welcoming experience alongside the most amazing japanese food. The restaurant may be small but they more than make up for it with delicious food and a wonderful dining experience....

This place is amazing. The staff is fantastic, and the dishes are fresh and delicious. Get the aburi salmon nigiri if it's on the menu; it's one the best pieces of fish I ever put in my mouth. We had the salmon and tuna sashimi, which was really fresh. The udon stir fried with tempura and added beef is really filling and delicious. The suijin sake was perfect with the meal. We had the octopus balls for the first time ever; really good and...

A charming, cosy neighbourhood restaurant serving classic and original Japanese dishes Enya is the local Japanese restaurant that you have always wanted. Seriously. The type that you would return again and again - chatting with the "boss" and zeroing straight onto the blackboard specials. The food is fresh and full of flavour. And you will leave with a remembered smile when you spot the jokes pinned to the wall.

Chanced upon this while looking for dinner at 9pm. Friendly welcoming staff and food was just awesome. The Spinach with the homemade sesame sauce was perfect. Sashimi taco with wasabi mayo - good balance of mayo and wasabi without overpowering the sashimi taste. Just nice for a post run light dinner :)
