I've dined at countless establishments, from hole-in-the-wall eateries to Michelin-starred restaurants. But never, in all my culinary escapades, have I encountered a chicken schnitzel that could truly change a life - until now.
The first time I visited this humble restaurant, I was drawn in by the warm, inviting atmosphere and the alluring aroma that wafted from the kitchen. I glanced at the menu, and my eyes were immediately drawn to one item - the chicken schnitzel.
From the very first bite, I was taken on a gastronomic journey that transcended the realms of the ordinary. The chicken was tender and perfectly cooked, enveloped in a crispy, golden breading that was seasoned to perfection. Each bite was a symphony of flavors, a perfect balance of savory and a hint of sweetness, with a gentle crunch that sang in harmony with the succulent chicken.
The accompanying sides, a creamy potato salad and a crisp, tangy slaw, only served to elevate the dish further. The potato salad was rich and comforting, while the slaw offered a refreshing contrast that balanced the rich flavors beautifully.
But it was the transformative power of this simple dish that truly moved me. This was not just food - it was a testament to the power of careful preparation, quality ingredients, and culinary passion. It was a reminder of the joy that food can bring, the comfort it can provide, and the memories it can create.
Since that life-altering meal, I have become a regular patron of this establishment, and the chicken schnitzel remains a constant beacon of culinary delight. It's not just a meal, but an experience, a celebration of the simple yet profound pleasure of good food.
So, if you're ever in the area and craving a dish that will not just satiate your hunger but also touch your soul, do yourself a favor and visit this place. Order the chicken schnitzel. Let it change your life, as it did mine.

You won't find flash shops at Werrington. This is an easy going town with several shop fronts and tucked around the corner on Kazanis Ct where the 782 and 785 buses stop is in the perfect position for those of us who are rushing to the train can pick up a coffee along the way.
My daughter and I stepped in minus any expectations to find a pristine dining area. Customer service was welcoming from the start. The menu is basic with economic priced meals that are perfect for the weekly budget.
Our orders were the Beer Battered Hoki with tartare sauce, chips and a choice of side salad, Pan Fried Basa Fillet with garlic butter sauce, chips and side salad. A cappuccino and a hot chocolate.
Both fish meals were $8 each. There were also $10 meals. Other meals include laksa, curries and other meals. While each meal is economic, serving sizes were generous.
Our fish were cooked perfectly as the french fry chip cuts and our side salads were also delicious.
We will definitely be returning. I highly recommend taking the time to drop in at Gardenside Cafe. There's a car park behind the shops, along the shop front as well as sport oval across the road from the Werrington shops location. Or hop off the bus or a short stroll from the train.
