If I could give this restaurant no stars for service and atmosphere, I would. I ordered on the phone for pickup. The lady read the order back to me to confirm it and said it would be 20 minutes. I went in 20 minutes later and my order wasn't done. The girl behind the counter said it would be ready soon. A woman came in after us, ordered, waited 20 minutes and got her food while I was still waiting for mine. At this point I was frustrated and asked what was going on. She said they were still waiting on the steamed dim sims. Another 10 minutes pass and someone else picks up an order but my food still isn't ready. I ask again and can see that the order ticket with my name hasn't been ticked off and another staff member comes out and tells me they accidentally made fried dim sims instead of steamed ones. A further 10 minutes on and I'm told it's taking longer because the rice noodles in my chow mein are taking longer to cook. When I finally get my food after well over an hour from when I initially ordered they said sorry and gave me a consolation bag of prawn chips. No discount, no refund, no other way of compensating for wasting my time. In the time I was waiting in the restaurant 4 people came in, ordered and got their food before I did, when I had already ordered on the phone before I came in. Read moreI never eat indoors here, so i can't exactly remark on the Atmosphere but it seems nice.
But what i really need to point out is the food. The food is good, don't get me wrong it is tasty. But the issue is consistency. Years ago when it was under different management this place was incredible, 10 out of 10 food which made me literally purchase 3 or 4 times a week for a lunch or dinner. But since covid this place has gone down hill for consistency.
I just don't know if i am going to get a really nice curry which is spicy and full of flavor or a bland watery tasting curry which some bland tongue white guy from the 20's thinks is too spicy. Out of the 4 meals i use to constantly get 3 of them are just bad now or its a swing or miss if it is going to be good. And to top it off the price for plain rice is just absurd, for the same price i could buy 4kg of rice my self and cook it for 20 different amounts of meals i buy from this place. Truly insane that they question that you didn't order rice. Yeah, i'm not ordering rice when i could get more and better cooked rice if i made it my self at home. No one likes that overpriced goopy rice for 6$.
I wish this establishment would go back to how it use to be, with the older recipes. But that is too much to ask for sadly. At least the front desk service is pretty good, the people working up front are really nice...
Read moreGolden Kim dinner last night poor customer service, ordered 12 spring rolls with our main meals , unfortunately most of our spring rolls were just pastry, no filling in them whatsoever. We Asked to speak to the owner , The owner could clearly see there was absolutely nothing within the spring rolls served to our table making comments regarding her costs to make them with a piece of paper to tell that it cost her $2.50 each spring roll and she pays them $25per hour to make. 17yrs we have gone to this restaurant with many different owners the cost cutting on servings has become a major concern under this new management as our meals are 50% onion with the increase in pricing. As for price increases for meals we are not fazed we just expect the service be met accordingly.
